Does anyone else worry about this?

Postby JessM » Sat Apr 23, 2011 10:23 am

I am overweight and TTC. I am however very regular, and don't know that my weight will be a problem TTC yet. I am however, worried about how its going to be when I'm pregnant. My weight is pretty spread out, but I'm worried that my husband won't be able to feel the baby kicking and that I won't look pregnant! I'm trying to lose weight while TTC. I'm 5'9" and 195. However, I think a lot of weight is in my boobs as I'm a 36DDD (sorry if TMI). Does anyone else worry about this or am I just insane?

I worry about that too and I am much heavier than you. I had a friend who was very very heavy and you could not tell she was pregnant unless she had on a maternity top that emphasized her belly which got me thinking - what about me?

I too am trying to lose weight but also ttc. I work with a lady who is probably about your size and she is 6 months and you can definitely tell she is pregnant. She says it took a little longer for her to "show" but one morning she just woke up and was like...ahhh a baby bump!

These worrys are all really normal but as a plus size women who had a baby you have nothing at all to worry about , I was about 290 when i got pregnant it wasnt easy getting pregnant cos i was bigger i dont O on my own so needed to take clomid to get pregnant but once pregnant i had no issues that i was told i would get cos i was bigger... My birth was tramatic but that was not weight related that just fetal/hospital error.... I didnt really look pregnant till about 20 weeks but people did notice and my hubby could feel him kick and move around so dont worry about all of that stuff...

Gl to you both on your TTC journeys xxx

I have always worried about that same thing also!!! I soooo want that "pregnant belly" !! lol But I am VERY overweight but I O normal and usually have very normal AF's....but I think you will be just fine....my sis-in-law was 240 when she got preggos with her second child and you could see that she was def pregnant @ about four months!! So that being said you will know and you will be able to feel the baby!! No worries! :D

Hi I'm Jamie and super excited to see this forum. I'm currently 247lbs and very regular. This is my second cycle trying to conceive and I'm pretty optimistic as I realized something's I shouldn't have done. Like douching  Yay dumb on my part. I was worried that might weight might be a factor but if I'm O'ing every month and have regular cycles I'm hoping it won't be a hindrance. I'm also using clearblue fertility monitor so we shall have to wait and see. Baby dust to you all!

Hello, just thought I'd share my input as well.. When I was preg with my son you could tell at 5 mths I was preg.. No doubt. I was 5'8 at about 210-220 pounds. And as for kicks and movements your hubby will def feel them and see them. At about 6-7 months my child was super active and my husband got to feel him all the time kicking and even watched his feet pushing extremely hard on my stomach where you can see the bumps of their feet pushing out. Yall should have no worries at all!!

I know I am a little late weighing in..

I was about5'6 and 180lbs when I got pregnant with DD and you could def tell I was pregnant at the end..

I was about 200 lbs when I got preggo with DS and he was even easier to tell I was pregnant. Def buy maternity clothes they make you look Pregnant instead of fat.

When all was said and done with my DS, I weighed 230lbs at 40 weeks... I had gained about 50 lbs from pregnancy.

Believe me when I say, you could DEFINITELY tell I was preggo, and not just "fat" lol. It's different for everybody, but you were definitely able to tell. And my hubby had NO PROBLEM feeling our squirming lil monkey kicking and rolling and hiccuping and all of that =) Don't worry too much! It's almost impossible NOT to feel your baby moving from the outside, especially towards the end =)

A little late to respond but thanks ladies!

I am just starting to get past that "pregnant or fat" stage now. Its weird how everything redistributes! As far as DH feeling the baby move, we're not at that stage yet, but soon :)

Well congrats...lol :D I was 195 when I got pregnant and I think I was 20 some weeks before we felt her on the outside. I have a tilted uterus so it was longer for me to actually feel her move. I was in my 4th month I think. I looked pregnant too not fat.... Lemme see if I have can find a pic real quick..

This was July 08 and I had her in Sep

This was exactly a week before I had her.
