Hey Goobermom,:hi:

I am not doing as well as i had hoped! It has been 2.5 weeks since i started the Xenical and i only just started losing some weight. I have been going to the gym as well three times a week and still nothing. I have changed my diet to eating Quorn, (vegetarian) mostly which is just about fat free for the most time, and so far only lost 2kg. :(

Next Thursday i have to go back to my GP again for another appointment to renew my prescription - I hope I will have lost at least one more KG by then. Otherwise i fear he may decide to take me off it, if he thinks it is not working.

And of course BFN last cycle, so we are officially on a TTC break....

How are you?

Yeah, your right, slowly but surely is the way to go. Rome wasn't built in a day! Well done on losing 16lbs thats excellent! Keep up the good work! Are you going to the gym as well? :D

I try and go three times a week, Friday, saturday and Sunday, as i just cannot face going after a full day's work. So i am committed to going on the weekends... mainly. :)

Let us know how the appointment with the new RE goes. I hope you get what you are looking for from him - in terms of help.

Good luck :luck:

birdie- i have not gone to the gym. i love walking outside but we are heading into cold winter time, and i hate being cold. which means i will again become friends with my boring treadmill in the basement. i also love playing volleyball which we do for 2 hours every friday night.

the new RE appt. went well overall. liked his personality and approach. didn't care for the fact that his office is on the birthing floor, in the ob/gyn wing (maybe i was spoiled by the last one that had their own building). he did discuss BMI. he woould not treat me with a bmi of 30 or higher. with the recent weight loss he had me at 29! so he said to keep losing, as this greatly affect things (can't remember what he said....something about the egss). we are going to try letrozole, with progesterone and estrace (or something like that that he didn't write down). he was pretty clear that we are not canidates for IVF due to FSH and poor response to follistim.

keep up the great job with the weight loss and getting to the gym!! it is not easy to workout after work. if i can get myself in a routine, i am the most consistent if i get up in the am (haven't done this consistently in awhile though....maybe now i will find the motivation!! and if i can get my work load back under control!!)

Hey Goobermom,
I am glad all went well with the new RE! Wow a BMI of 29 - that is a healthy one i know, but still, quite a target to reach - for me anyway! LOL! But good on you, i am pleased to hear that he is going to try you on some meds and also that he was upfront about IUI and IVF.

I wish we had a treadmill at home, it would be so much easier, but alas, we dont the space. So although i get up at 5am each morning i cannot get to a gym before 6h30 as they don't open till then and by that time i am already waiting for my train to get to work - as i have to commute about an hour each way. So bang goes the morning theory! I do have to keep at it though. :)
Fingers crossed! I am on leave next week, so if you post and i don't reply, thats the only reason! :D

Keep going and don't give up - you have plenty motivation now!!

Hi there!

I am back! :)

We were away for a week holiday - shopping and visiting inlaws! LOL!

Glad things are going well your side, this side they are going okay too. I had to go and see the Dr again on Thursday for an update on getting some more pills, and I am pleased to say that i have lost 4kg so far - i know it is not a lot, but it is better than putting on 4kg! LOL! :yay:

So back at work now and have to work hard at losing the same if not more by the time i see him again on the 1st December!

When is your next appt with the RE?

i have a phone session next week regarding the letrozole meds. i have the shg on thursday (my understanding is they fill my uterus with fluid and do an ultrasound and then flush my tubes).

Hi there!

Well done on the weight loss! How long has it taken you to lose 19.2 lbs? Well done anyway!! :)

Wow, okay, the tube flush is a good thing though right? What does the letrozole meds do to help your fertility? And why are you having a phone session?

Sorry for all the questions! LOL! My next weigh in is on Saturday so hopefully will be down another few pounds! :)

Adam and I decided we are still going to carry on TTC regardless of the Dr saying we should take a break, but i am not totally focussing on it, we only BD'd once during when i thought i was about to O - and it was the day of O i am guessing! Anyway, hopefully we will have a Christmas surprise for the friends and family in SA! :)

Have you started Christmas shopping yet? :D

hello!
it has taken me about 10 weeks i think!? so i am not losing fast but i am losing :)

the tubal flush/SHG was painful, but it was good to do. showed that my uterus was good and that my tubes are open :) i believe the letrozole is supposed to help support egg growth, not necessary cause more eggs each month but support a good healthy egg. we will support each cycle with progesterone also. the phone session is just to review timing of meds, doses of med, and probably to help coordinate everthing, as i will have to do a ultrasound on cycle day 1,2, or 3 and then again on 10, 11, or 12.

good luck with your weigh in....you are doing awesome!! and maybe you caught that egg...what a great christmas surprise that would be!!

i have not started shopping yet....i am not a good shopper, i don't have good ideas :( my brother and dad are awesome gift buyers! have you started shopping? do you have many to buy for? i may go to a ceramic studio to make some gifts this weekend! i love art!!

i did more research on letrozole and online it says that in ladies that ovulate on their own, it can assist with have 2-3 follies/eggs per cycle. that would be great! a greater chance that one will be fertilized and implant!!

Hey, :hi:

Well, 10 weeks isn't all that long, and I think you are doing well because on average thats 2lbs a week which is the normal losing rate and the recommeded weight loss rate too - if you lose it too quickly then it just gets straight back on them hips! Trust me, i know! LOL!

I am glad to hear your tubes are open that you are on meds to support healthy eggs - thats just another step closer to achieving what you set out to in the first place...

Oh yes, if we got the egg it will be the best Christmas ever - despite any Nausea! LOL!!

Yes, we are terrible, my husband and I, we both love Christmas so much and we have done 90% of the shopping already and (wait for it!) i have already wrapped them all as well! LOL! We don't normally have lots of people to buy for, but this year we are flying out to see my family for Christmas and I havent seen them for over 2yrs so we have quite a bit to take with. Let's just say, we have already bought two extra suitcases to take - so far three cases of presents and one for our clothes... to share! LMAO!!

Anyway, it's all good fun, but we will spend most of next year paying it all off!
:(

I will catch up with you again on monday and let you know how the weigh in went - fingers crossed!

When is your phone session?
