Anyone wanna lose a little weight with me?

Postby maddy » Mon Dec 17, 2012 5:48 am

OK, providing this cycle is a bust, I am going to be NTNP next cycle and will be doing a low carb/high protein diet and am going to attempt cardio 6 times a week. I would love some company, to cheer me on, and would love to cheer others on! It doesnt have to been anything hardcore or overly strict, Lord knows I might not be able to stick to this, but I really need to drop a few pounds and would love some ttc/weight loss buddies!

I'll play if you're still planning to lose a bit of weight. I'm starting on a low carb/high protein diet and doing 30 minutes strength training 4 times a week and 30 min of walking daily.

Hi Kaytlyn! Yes Im still going at it! Me and DH are doing a high protein/low carb diet. I am limiting whatever carbs I get to before 3pm. I read that it helps keep your insulin more stable. Im also trying not to eat any flour or sugar. Its hard. I mean its everything, and every recipe. I have been on pinterest and some food blogs finding low carb recipes.

I havent gotten the inspiration to make myself do cardio yet, but Ive stuck to my diet so far! How are you doing? :D

I'm starting the diet on Monday. I'm using the Curves Complete program since it's free to employees (heck yes :)). Unfortunately, I dislocated my kneecap (once again grr) so I'm not sure when I'll be able to hop back into working out. I probably will still try to walk, but nothing strenuous.

Can I join you ladies? I'm looking to drop a few (well, more then a few) pounds. I'm re-starting weight watchers tomorrow, I did really well on it until I got pregnant/had my miscarriage. Since then it's been difficult to stay on track, but I've gained so much of the weight back, I need to start doing something again.. My job currently makes me park off sight, so I get about 30 minutes a day in light cardio walking from my car to my building and back again.

Sure, Jess :) Best of luck to you!

As for me I spent today getting rid of all the tempting junk food and then I stocked up with everything I'll need for my first week on the Curves Complete meal plan. Tomorrow morning after breakfast, I'll see if DH wants to go on a walk with me. I'm supposed to get in 10,000 steps a day in addition to strength training/cardio 4 times a week. Tuesday I'm going to see how my knee holds up through my work out. I'll just have to take it slow and easy.

Hi Jess and Kaytlyn! I am still doing low carb, but I just cant seem to make myself exercise. I just feel so lazy!

Me and DH have found some pretty good recipes though. I have been on pinterest and found most there, and some others through some low carb food blogs. We fake mashed potatoes out of cauliflower, and let me tell you they tasted just the same! The only snacky type stuff I could find is pork rinds. Meh they are ok if I get the flavored kind, but honestly its not the same as chips or other stuff.

I was hoping that this diet would help my pcos, but so far I havent ovulated yet. so frustrating!!

How are you ladies doing? I hope good!

Have you looked on skinnytaste.com??? They have a bunch of good recipes and the few we've made from that site are easy to make and super yummy. I hate exercising too! Luckily, we have to park off site at my work so I get a good 30 minute walk in Monday through Friday (15 minutes each way) whether I want to or not :)

I'm going to weigh myself tomorrow and tighten down on my diet a little. I've been good with packing my lunches and stuff, but we've been too busy to cook so we've been going out every night....

Jess, those recipes look delicious! Thank you for sharing! The walking sounds like a good thing. :D

Welcome Jenni, the more the merrier!! I wish I could make myself get on my elliptical. They really give a good workout thats for sure!

Kaytlyn, that is fabulous! I am at a little standstill right now, but Im hoping in a few days I start losing again.

I have been really good with my diet until tonight. Nachos, and it was too big of a portion as well! Oh well, it was so good and I will try and not do it again. At least not anytime soon! :lol2:

I hope you are all doing well!

Hello Ladies.Thanks for the welcome.

I have done WW before with great success. That was prior to my hypothyroidism, but my meds are adjusted now and I feel confident it will work.

I had lost about 50 lbs back in 2007 and 2008 on WW. I was a perfect size 8 in 2010 for my November wedding. Didn't even need any alterations to my dress either. Then we got back from the honeymoon and my thyroid took a dive. It crashed so hard that I gained 25 lbs in about 6 weeks, then another 10 in the months after. Now I'm working to get it off and I've seen some success. About 3lbs so far. We are also not stopping TTC since I'm 43. When and if I get a + HPT I'll stop trying to lose.

I also have autoimmune arthritis and I'm currently in a flare, so it makes it difficult to get up and get moving. I am trying to do 30-60 min of elliptical at least 5 days a week... we have one which makes it convenient since I don't have to go to the gym. I need to start adding yoga and stretching this weekend. I hope to eventually get up to 90-120 min on the elliptical 5-6 days a week by a month from now.

I also eat gluten free, organic and paleo if anyone is interested. The nice thing about WW is the food is non-specific. You can create your own eating plan! I tend to eat a LOT of veggies (raw mostly) and I do green smoothies with dark berries (blue or rasp) to get more veggies in there.

So I weighed myself on Wednesday and I lost 3 pounds!! Woo hoo!

Jenni: this is my 3rd shot with WW. I go on it, loose tons of weight, think "I can do this" and a few years later I've gained everything back and then some :( It was working great this time around, I lost almost 40 lbs before I got pregnant and had my miscarriage. Then I got all depressed and now I've gained almost all of it back..

Do you have a pool available for your use? I have arthritis in my knees and ankles and swimming brings me great relief.

But I'm off to a good start with 3 lbs seeing as I've only been really really at it for about a week. And the walking helps :)

Jess- no pool. My arthritis causes fevers and inflammation through my whole body. That's what makes it hard to get moving. Some days exercise just does not happen. Weighing in on Tuesday. Gonna try to get elliptical in later today and tomorrow.
