Lost - at least its healthy sperm and its in there and you're in with a shot!! Until I reach that point I am totally nervous and expecting to have the cycle cancelled at any stage...or seomthing goes wrong with DH and he can't give a sample. There is hope for you!! you have a great chance.

Besides, who really knows at what stage the pain means. Maybe the pain means it is coming but the egg actually releases later? We're no scientists and we'll beat ourselves up trying to figure it out. Trust that the doc has done this before and knows when the best time is!

I swore I had feelings of O monday night because i was sore...but obviously not because my u/s didn't show that today!

anxiously awaiting IUI!

YAY for yours being done. Take it easy the next few days..and try not to stress!!

CFash-
Thanks for your reply. It really helped me become more positive. The more I research fertility/human reproduction, the more I realize that Drs really don't know a whole lot. Not to their discredit, many of the tests/information we want - we can't get because of how invasive & dangerous the research would be to do on humans. I'll keep my head up. I found out around 7 that today is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception in the Catholic faith. I was raised Catholic, though I don't practice really, and I figure that was a nice sign, too.

I wish you the best tomorrow! Strong swimmers and sticky vibes!
Keep me posted!

So now I am just waiting and waiting and getting nervous!! Just want it done so i can try and switch off for a few days!

DH couldn't make early appointment because of work so now I am not scheduled until 3pm! eek....hours of waiting!

Did you get trigger shot redness and soreness near the site? The nurse warned me i would and i did. ouch.

More strangely and I don't know if this was from the trigger or I am getting sick but I was SO tired last night. tried to go for a run. Was too tired, so walked and then was so tired I struggled to make it home! I cancelled plans for dinner and fell asleep at 7.30pm!! Slept right thru to 7am this morning?!

Anyhoo, hope you are relaxing and "nurturing your body" as my acupuncturist says! The long wait stretches ahead of us. Not sure that I have wanted xmas to arrive as much as since I was a kid!

Phew! So its done.

There are so many variables that can go wrong so am just relieved to be able to join you in the TWW lost!

Took a while to get the tube in (never had that happen before) so that didn't help but she said it was just the angle or whatever and it eventually went in fine!

Counts were all fine too.

Am lying on sofa trying to think nurturing thoughts!!! Here's to the days passing quickly!!

Cfash-
Bummer that had all of that waiting, but at least it's over now, and we can both look forward to our bfps!

I don't usually get soreness with Novarel; did you use it or Ovidrel? My biggest problem is pushing on the needle too hard and bruising myself.
I'm not any more tired than expected. I'm cutting my caffeine intake by 50-66% each day. (Down from 2-3 Diet Pepsi's to 1) I may take a snooze tonight and then get back up for the new epidsode of BONES.

How'd you get into acupunture? I have a cousin who has done it, but no one else that I know has ever even tried it (that I know of).

I'm truly excited for Christmas, too. I hope the BFP comes fast and then the holidays slow down for a bit, so I can enjoy the time off. (I'm a teacher and have a two week break over the holidays).

I hurt my back today picking up my work bag at a funny angle, and I can't take Ibuprofen!! Tylenol and I are not buddies. It does nothing for me. It's the heating pad an a little nippity nap for me.

Enjoy your relaxation time. :)

ouch for the sore back!! Poor you. Make sure you do some walking, stretching and lots of heat packs!

I was determined to relax last night but was lying on the sofa totally anxiety ridden! So I went to a dinner I thought I would miss and it was the best tonic. Good girlfriends and funny conversations...I didn't even think about it!

Anxiety back a bit this morning. I know I need to relax, but how? tips please LOST!

When you had IUIs in the past, what was the effect of the trigger? I have never had a trigger. This morning i noticed my BBs are sore. I presume that is from the trigger because O is a strange time to have that?

My clinic got me into acunpuncture. they are sort of aligned with an acupuncture clinic. They had a free info night with a specialist who spent 2 hours going through he (RE specialist) and his wife (acupuncturist) medical data and success rates. The findings were pretty clear to me! Also my sis had had it during her IVF and pre birth (which she thought helped a lot) and was pretty supportive of it.

Just after I started in Sept I had an unexpected and awful family death which caused great stress and grief (obviously) In hindsight, i was lucky I was in such treatment then because I was already pretty rock bottom because of the fertility treatment and that pretty well sent me over the edge - she gave me lots of stress related points and I think it really helped.

Also - when I went to her, the clomid had reduced my lining to 2.7. Yesterday it was 7.57. This could be simply being off the clomid, but I don't think it hurt to have her do treatment to increase clood flow again either. Its not cheap but I think its working for me at the moment.

Does your clinic have anywhere they recommend?

I totally used a heating pad last night. Though it felt worse this morning, it got a lot better throughout the day. I've had some anxiety too. I just end up sleeping a bit more - especially since I've cut back my caffeine intake. I agree that time with friends is the best medicine. I have a dinner party Sunday that should provide some distraction (although 2 of the 3 girls that will be there are pregnant).

I guess the way I deal with anxiety the most is that I just think realistically and try to balance my hopes with realistic expectations. I never let myself get too excited.

Though this is my first IUI, I've triggered 3 times before this. I've never noticed any side effects. Prometrium (progesterone suppositories) make my BBs sore though.

My clinic doesn't recommend an acupunturist as far as I know. I'll ask on my next visit. I'm glad it works for you. When is your next appt?

Sending peaceful thoughts your way!

Another stoopid question. What's the deal with the trigger shot? It stays in ur system and gives u a false read on a pregnancy test?? That right?

Until when?

My doctor is wants me to wait until 10 days after the booster/trigger. However, I've read that it takes 1 day per 1000mIU to get out of your system. Who knows, really? My doctor is probably trying to save me the pain of a false positive.

Am feeling totally like I am out today. I am overthinking it all but on Sunday I felt like I O. I very clearly had egg white CM....

One other time I went in for an u/s the doc (not mine) said I should BD that night because we would O soon (I had a couple of 20 follies). She freaked me out because it was only day 11 and I had always O'd on day 17 (and DH was away). Anyway, i was right and didn't get a + opk until day 17. Maybe mine take forever to release?

In which case, it would make sense that I O'd on Sunday (3 days later than IUI). IUI sperm would have been useless by then and DH - not believing my rationale refused to BD for fear of multiples (we had been warned not to this week because the other smaller ones might have caught up and then there would have potentially 6)

The other option might be that the smaller follies O'd. But is that possible if u have conceived with others? I am guessing not.

Why don't they U/s the day of IUI? Also , I read somewhere else online that a girl had had an u/s after the IUI to check the follie had collapse (ie: released an egg).

So confused but feeling very unpositive.

In some ways I think the 14 day wait is good because you begin to forget all the hard work and the positive comments by the doctors and then you are less devastated when Af shows as per normal.

Clearly I am not busy at work and have too much time to think.

how are you going? Keeping the anxiety in check?

I'm pretty sure that all the hormones they put us on, especially HcG trigger shots can imitate ovulation symptoms because they can ncrease estrogen production. I completely understand freaky poorly-timed O feeling pains. I wish my body would just stop doing anything pain/ache/bloat/sore-wise unless related to these treatments so that I can actually tell what's going on. I hope hope hope for you that you O'd at the 36 hour mark for your IUI. Most likely you did. Do you have a progesterone test scheduled for this Thursday (7dpiui)? Mine is Wednesday.

I think that when it comes to when you "naturally" ovulate and the trigger, that the trigger wins out. When I was on clomid with my ClearBlue Easy ovulation predictor I usually ovulated on day 13-14. This cycle it was on day 10-11 because my follies were big enough. I know some women are HcG trigger resistant, but I think it's rare.

I wish my doctor did an u/s the day of the IUI. Then I would know if I ovulated a day early or not! I don't know why they don't.

Don't be too unpositive yet! I do prefer to feel mostly negative during the TWW to avoid big disappointment. That's one of the reasons why I like to take HPTs early. It prepares me so there's not BIG day where I get a BFN.

I'm doing well, but am pretty tired only having one caffeinated pop a day. I bet you could call your nurse and ask her what amount of HcG she gave you. I'm half tempted to call and ask if it really takes 10 days to get 2,500 mIU out of my system... if so, you'd think it'd take 20 days to ge 5,000 out (my normal dose) and they've never made me wait to test before.

Chin up! Wishing you a more positive day tomorrow!

No i am not having a progesterone test. Not sure if this is good or bad. Yours is today - intrigued as to how it goes. Best of luck!

Thanks for the reassuring thoughts on trigger winning out. I needed to hear that.

how are you travelling 7 dpiui today?

Are you going to POAS at any stage? If so, which day?

Hanging in anticipation! Progesterone test??

Any symptoms?

I have been very good at ignoring the sore BBs knowing they were likely trigger induced. But having quite a bit of cramping this afternoon. That makes it harder to ignore!

You? You're clearly much stronger willed than I am - u don't seem to be obsessing! Good for you.

Decided I am going to test Monday (11dpiui) before I go meet my family. Will allow me a bit of space to deal with result.

hope all well with you!

Cfash! Sorry buddy! I had a fever of 101.6 yesterday with aches - and pretty much slept from 5pm until 6 this morning. Sorry I didn't get back to you!

I am obsessing - the only thing I got online for was to see if a fever could hurt implantation/early pregnancy or was a sign of pregnancy. It can be bad for early pregnancy (so I took Tylenol) but is not a sign of pregnancy (bummer!) I felt fine this morning, so I'm guessing I had a 12hour bug. Tomorrow is the last day of school before break. Those teenagers keep me so busy during school and grading/planning takes up my time after school, that I obsess more on weekends. I usally spend at least one weekend night looking at IUI/prenancy websites and forums.

My progesterone test is a test that they perform to check ovulation. Basically at 7dpo they have expected/normal progesterone that indicate ovulation. Levels of 10 unmedicated and 15 medicated show ovulation. Higher numbers can indicate multiple eggs being ovulated. If you're curious, you could ask your doctor to order the test. My insurance covers the blood test because it's diagnositc, not "treatment."

My sore BBs are from the Progesterone supplements that I'm on. I don't usually get them from the booster shots. I will probably start testing tomorrow or Saturday to track the HcG shots leaving my system. I'll keep you posted on how that goes. I hope it's out before next Friday, but the doctor told me I shouldn't test until Christmas for that reason, so we'll have to see!

Testing 11dpiui is early, but still gives that window of hope if it's negative. I have usually tested by then on cycles when I don't use a booster. I think that only 40-55% of women get their positives that early. (http://www.fertilityfriend.com/Faqs/Ear ... Study.html) That website has some information about false negatives and when women get their bfps after bfns.

All is well. Keep me posted!
