Great idea, Danielle! Not much new to report for me, other than that I have no willpower. Was supposed to wait until Friday to do a HPT. Did it today, 10 dpiui. BFN. Trying not to get discouraged, as it is early and I have partially resigned myself to IVF anyway. Did discover (on one of the many threads) that Jamie and I are from the same home town. Pretty awesome even though it turns out we are from rival high schools. (Mine counts Madonna as an alum, so I feel I have the slight edge ...)

Hi Ladies,

My name is Aislynn and I would love to join your group. My husband and I have been TTC for 18 months now for our first. We just had our 2nd medicated IUI in June that ended in a bfn negative today. More than other months, I have taken this one pretty hard. I have been looking to this website for months for encouragement and have finally decided to join. Our doctor only wanted to try three iui's so I guess we have one left.

I was recently diagnosed with high prolactin, however, with the help of medication it is now back in the normal ranges. I ovulate on my own. My husband, David, has low morphology with only 1% on a good day. Our doctor has "labeled" us with unexplained infertility with mild MF.
TTC for 18 months
Mild MFI - 1% Morphology
3rd IUI - July?

Thank you for the warm welcome, great to have people to talk to as I honk my friend is getting fed up if hearing talk about feeling sick and nauseated and AF pain and so on! Lol!

Dmdank- I triggered on 01 Juky then RE did IUI on 02 and again on 03. I took Gonal F injections (75) for 8 days and tablets for 5 of those days. Ovitrel 6500iu was used as trigger shot. My lining went from 0.27 to 0.7 which was perfect according to RE. I had 2 follicles on the right side which was not good as I have a blocked tube which could lead to ectopic but also had 3 on the left side. Hubby was not so good though, his count was quite low at 2 millions after wash on first iui and 1 millions on the second one after wash. His mobility was 30% active and 10% sluggish on day one after wash and then 35% active and 10% sluggish on the second iui after wash. the rest was non-mobile.

It is my first iui, we are going this way to conceive because of hubby but also mainly because of me, I have PCOS and do not ovulate on my own. However, I responded pretty well to the treatment, my RE was quite pleasantly surprised!

I test on 22 July before I go on holiday but my AF is due on 19th so I should know by then.

So far I have had strong AF pain in the middle and across since sunday eve (is that 5 dpiui? or just 3? how do you count?) pain on the right side too, nausea since yesterday, also I feel sick every time I eat, I have to stop. Last night was really bad. I wake up bursting for the loo which is normal for me if I have had lots of sugar as I am pre-diabetic but no sugar in the past few days so not normal. I had slight clear cm on the paper yesterday all day, now gone. I think it was cm, it wa the sticky thing but clear and just a smear on the paper when going to the loo. Oh dear too much info again, sorry.

Are you all in the US? I'm from Europe but live in the Middle East where I work. :-)

Re: IUI Buddies - Keeping in Touch (All Are Welcome)

Postby cbusch87 » Tue Jul 08, 2014 9:37 am

I did a progesterone level blood test yesterday at 7dpiui. I left a message for the nurse this morning and she just called back. She said for unmedicated cycles they like to see the progesterone at 10 or above, for medicated cycles 15 or above. My progesterone was only 12.1 :( I asked her if I could supplement between now and the pregnancy test and she said that since my progesterone is low, it's highly unlikely that I would get pregnant off this cycle since I didn't have a good ovulation. If by some slim chance I do end up pregnant, they would supplement my progesterone to try to keep me pregnant.

I'm really upset. First I'm upset that my last RE never did this test with my medicated cycles. Second I'm obviously upset that I was just told this cycle is pretty much a wash and that I'll need more meds next cycle. And third I'm confused as to why my body would be struggling with ovulation on meds when my progesterone levels after ovulation on unmedicated cycles (at 3 previous RE's offices) were all normal.

DH sees it as a good thing because at least they tested it and at least now we know what we can do to improve our chances from here on out. So I should probably look at it that way.

In the meantime, do you ladies have any thoughts? I know a lot of RE's prescribe progesterone after IUI's for all their patients and I'm thinking about looking for OTC progesterone just in case. But I don't know if that's reasonable or not.
