Hi don't give up til AF shows! I stupidly tested yesterday and of course BFN (11dpiui) and now I feel the dreaded negative thoughts creeping in.

For those without AF or BFPs, are you going to get a blood test? HCG shows up in lower concentrations in the blood apparently...

The worst part of the TWW is uncertainty, my partner and I are having councelling to help us through each month of disapointment and one thing my counsellor said this time round is 'what's the worst that could happen?' Which of course I said the BFN and then he said but even with that, it's not the end and rather than looking at it each time as 'all or nothing' I should give myself a time span in which I know it could be bad or good but either way it's ok. So I am giving myself a year then I am going to stop for 3 months then who knows. Knowing that in a year I could have a BFP is somehow easier then putting all my hope into each cycle each month.... Sort of spreading the angst!!

I am sending hope to all the 12-13 dpiui girls xx

Hi Babee2015 - I tested today 13DPIUI and got 3 BFN on the knockoff Wondfos and a BFN on First Response Rapid Results.

At this point I am just waiting for AF to show so we can get on with the IVF process. We are to submit payment by Friday so either way I'm pretty anxious. Pulling for you tomorrow! I hope you get your BFP!

Oh ladies... So sorry to keep seeing all these BFN updates, it's so so sad! For those who haven't got AF yet, I pray she stays away! There's every chance you could have had a late implantation and your BFP will be around the corner! Babee and Mahonlee - are you going to get a blood test or just waiting it out?

Rhonda- keep thinking positive, it's still early for you and we've got to have a BFP on here soon!!

A quick update from me - AF arrived on Sunday morning... 8 days early!! Went in for a day 3 scan today and got the green light to start with IVF! Got my meds and med training and did the first injection tonight. Next scan for monitoring follies is on Monday morning and the RE thinks ER (egg retrieval) will take place Monday 16th! I'm so excited to start this journey, gotta have hope!

Sending you all Baby dust and keeping everything crossed for you ladies xx

Mama and makingminnies what was your deciding factor to move onto a IVF??? It's very different for different people I know....the protocol here is 3 iui then ivf, however I see some people of this forum with 5 or even 10 iui attempts how do you know when to switch?

We made an appt to discuss maybe one round of ivf so we will see! We will be interested to see how your journeys unfold and maybe get some advice! Good luck!

Ruby how did you go? There has to be at least one positive in this group?!?!

Hi,

I am out too I am afraid, AF showed up on Wed - 14days after ovukation like clockwork. Am thinking about having immunology screening before going through another cycle as I am suspicious about my autoimmune conditions interfering with the whole process.

Might be able to jump straight to ivf on immunosuppressant drugs...

Hello all, tested yesterday and there was a faint line. Tested again this morning and the line is most definitely there. Just got to book a blood test to confirm but looks like my first IUI has led to a BFP. :D

It is such a shame it can't work out like this for all of us, my happiness is marred by guilt, having read your stories and all the obstacles you ladies have had to over come. You are all so strong and amazing, I have my fingers crossed for all of you for the future. However it happens I hope you get the family you seek.

Will let you know the blood test results...

Hi Babee - for us, cost was/is the deciding factor. We are paying everything out of pocket as insurances doesn't cover fertility. So we thought we would try two rounds of IUI but knew we couldn't afford IVF until March. When February's IUI got cancelled, hubby said straight away, no more IUI's, straight to IVF in March. Why waste another 400€ when we can put it towards IVF which has a much higher success rate (38% by our clinic for first timers)

I was worried in the beginning about taking such a big step, but now I'm in the middle of it, I don't know why I was nervous. The protocol is straight forward and I'm more excited now than I've been for any IUI.

It's still very unpredictable, but our chances are higher. My only hope is that I get enough strong embryos that make it to freeze, so we have a back up if our fresh cycle doesn't work.

Does your insurance cover IVF, or partial cover? That would be a big help in your decision making.

The girls on the IVF boards are also amazing and one girl just had her first ultra sound and its twins :D That's gotta make you smile...

Congratulations ChazD - it's really uplifting to read a BFP in our group! We haven't had one for a loooooong time!

Don't feel guilt, not one bit! At the end of the day it's down to pure luck and we all know the odds are against us with an IUI. We are really happy for you and it just goes to prove it can work on the first round!

Please keep us updated with your beta results :D

chaz soooo happy for you, dont feel bad at all, its reassuring to know it can happen! I hope everything goes well for the next few weeks and you have great pregnancy!

mama, we dont have insurance which would be like private health cover here, so it is expensive which is why we went iui also. Probably one cycle we could manage but it is really hard when it doesnt work and your feel like you are wasting 1000's for no result! I have been having a look at the ivf boards too for more information, there are sooooo many more people!! I wouldnt be able to keep up! so when is your egg retrieval?? and are you doing ivf or icsi? I have been reading a lot about the difference and potential outcomes.....argh....google....sometimes you are not my friend :D :D :D :D

We're doing ICSI... Not out of choice, it's more expensive but because of sperm quality. I have another scan on Monday and probably will have another Thur or Fri depending how am responding to meds. Doc thinks Monday 16th for ER and we've already agreed we will put two eggs back in to increase our chances. Not sure yet if we will do 3 or 5 day transfer, all depends on quantity and quality!

Yes, there's a lot of ladies on the IVF boards, I'm in the Feb/Mar board and it's really great. A lot of support, encouragement and advice for the unknown. Don't think I'd be as positive as I am now, had it not been for the ladies on there!

Good luck with your appointment, I hope the decision is an easy one for you both and I'm here if you have any more questions xx
