Taking a month off- suggestions?

Postby Jean789 » Thu Mar 26, 2015 8:09 pm

Hi everyone. We have decided to take the month of April off from scheduling our next IUI. So far we have done 4 BFN IUIs. This last one was particularly heartbreaking. Good numbers from my husband with 99% motility and injectables! Still nothing :-/ even convinced myself I was feeling different and this was our month.

Has anyone taken a month off and how did it go for you? I ordered some pre-seed to try it out. Anyone have success with that?

The nurse I spoke to today said some couples even conceive on their month off. I'm not holding my breath for that- I just need a mental and financial break. Any comments would be appreciated- thanks!

Our situation is a little different - donor, IUI/ICI. But we took time off too. This year we realized how long we'd been trying on our own (at home), and then made an appt with a specialist. Sometimes you just need a break. We didn't have any tracking or trying Jan - March. Some testing appts to get us ready for the next IUI.

Do what feels right for you. :)

I did 3 IUI's last year and they were all BFN and then I decided to take a break. The break ended up being for 5 months. I tried again in March changing it up a little. This time I changed donor sperm and did it medicated. I did my IUI March 31st and on April 11th I got my BFP. For me, a break helped!
