I thought I'd have another june iui but my body is proving otherwise! We are on our 3rd iui, 3rd month of clomid. My RE says this will be the last one before we move on to more drastic measures.
We went in monday for a day 12 u/s, had 1 16mm follicle on the left, several smalls on the right. Opk's up to this morning were all -. Another u/s this am showed a 19mm but no LH surge. So, more opk's tonight and tomorrow am. If we get a + we'll go in for iui tomorrow. If not, i go in for trigger tomorrow and iui Friday.
Here's to a positive anything!

I have the first appt with a RE today! I'm nervous! We are using donor sperm so I guess we'll see what kind of testing the doc wants to do after today- maybe looking at a September IUI. Any advice?

Hopeful- good luck to you! I admire what you're doing. Are you using a specialist or trying it on your own?
Kentucky- if you haven't already started, i would definitely begin prenatal supplements, and i take fish oil as well. Just be sure to mention this to your RE. Make a list of questions, don't leave there wondering anything. There is no stupid question, only those not asked.
I have been doing opk's twice daily since Monday and gotten nothing but -'s. So, went in this am for pregnyl trigger shot and scheduled iui for tomorrow at 7! Fingers crossed being that this is our last month our RE will do anymore iui's. If this one fails we move on to injectables or ivf, if we choose to go that far.
Good luck everyone!

Hi everyone,

I had my second IUI yesterday using donor sperm. I am also a single woman going it alone. I had two follies 23.5mm and 19.5mm on the morning of the trigger shot so that was all looking good. Had some ovulation signs (wont give tmi) about an hour before IUI so everything looking up and then was a bit bummed to learn that this month's sperm count was only 6 mill post-wash. Last month the donor had 20 mill post wash. Shame the good sample didn't match up with my good month. Anyway, it only takes one and I figure the timing of all this is probably one of the most important things and I think we got that spot on. Hoping very much this one is a success as the rules here in Australia say only two IUIs with a donor sperm before moving to IVF and there is another wait of 4 mths for a donor to become available to me so everything crossed for a BFP this time round. I am trying all the tricks in the book - warm feet, acupuncture, chinese herbs, hot water bottle, the good ol' pineapple trick, brazil nuts, daily walk, lots of water, no alcohol, no caffeine, warm foods. Sounds a bit nutty but it hasn't been too difficult and I figure if this is my last try for a few months then there will be no regrets!!

Forever - I hope your IUI was a huge success and you are feeling relaxed and positive this time round. We will be TWW buddies :-)

Kentucky - don't be nervous. I have found the whole IUI process (including injecting myself - which I thought I would never be able to do) to be fairly painless and non-invasive.

Hopefulsolomum - very glad to be in touch with someone going through the same thing as me. I am super excited... and choosing the donor was a great day for my friends and I - we all did it in secret and turns out everyone picked the same one :-)

Anyhow, looking forward to keeping in touch with everyone. GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL!!!!!!

IUI this morning went great. I have done everything possible to make it work this month. Pineapple core, pomegranate juice, red raspberry leaf, whole dairy, prenatals, fertility blend, haven't had a drop of alcohol (not even wine) clomid and hcgtrigger shot. I too had lots of ovulation signs. I felt very ill after my trigger yesterday, really strange dreams about a gulfstream airplane crashing, and a LOT of milky white cm right before the procedure.
Here's to hoping our last month is a success! And good luck to all of you joining this board! I can't wait to see what these next two weeks holds for us all!

Forever - Thank you for your kind words. I'm with a specialist clinic and having medicated cycles. Gonal F and Tamoxifen. This next one with be #3 medicated... 2 unmedicated by myself last year... It's a long story, but to be honest, if I didn't have my one remaining sperm sample stored at my clinic I would go to a different clinic. They have been very unprofessional to say the least.

I'm so glad it went well for you this morning. You're sounding so positive and you've done so much to prepare and be ready for this day. I hope you feel proud. I know the next two weeks will be difficult. It always seems like sooo much longer than 14 days. I hope the time will pass for you with ease. I'll be right behind you! As a little thing to pass the time in a helpful way, create a video of all sorts of photos that will help you visualise your baby and your future raising your child. It's kind of like Laws of Attraction. Can't be any harm that's for sure. Dream!

Veejay - Wow, a fellow singleton. That's amazing. I'm really delighted to be able to share this journey along with another hopeful solo mum. It's a lonely time in so many ways. Thank God I have a lot of support, but really and truly, I'm doing everything alone. I hope you have some great support around you too. You can count on some encouragement and solidarity from me! Great sized follicles and although it's a little disappointing that your donor's count was lower, it's still plenty! Sounds wonderful that you and your friends were obviously drawn to the same donor - maybe that's a sign! Did you go for open or anonymous? It's a mad thing to do isn't it. I chose open, a lovely chap from Denmark. I'm going along alone as I just simply haven't met the right guy for me just yet. It annoys me when reports come out that women our waiting to have children because of their careers etc. Good on you for all that you are doing at this time to give you every possible chance. You are the only one I've come across who mentioned she is eating brazil nuts. Hey, another thing in common! I'm wishing you strength and resolve, and a calm, stress free two week wait. I tiny little thing before I sign off for now - I was advised not to use a hot water bottle after IUI. It's highly recommended after IVF but not for IUI (by my clinic anyway). I hope you don't mind me saying this - just maybe check in with your clinic. Perhaps you're just warming your feet.

And to you both - baby dust and prayers that your greatest wishes come true. I'll be here along the way with you both. Check in anytime if you need a kind word.

Hi Everyone,

I'm still on my tww from June's IUI. I secretly tested this morning but got a BFN. The issue is I pee'd three times between 12 and 5am and I used the 5am urine. So now I am just going nuts. Tomorrow is the day the doc said I should test. It's about day 13/14 piui. Praying there is no last minute AF. I expected AF on Wednesday but then maybe it later...or maybe, just maybe I'm pregnant? I have been having brown spotting all week and I thought it was AF but that has yet to happen.
I also had a slight meltdown ... but then who hasn't in this process. LOL. I'm still trying to be positive. It's really hard to stay positive....

I want to wish everyone a happy 4th!

Hey guys! I hope I can join you :D

Forever - I sense you're feeling very positive about this cycle and I think that's fantastic! Who knows? Maybe your gut is trying to tell you that this is "the one". Please keep us updated as things move along~

HopefulSoloMum - I'm so sorry you've been dealing with an unpleasant situation at your current clinic! I couldn't imagine dealing with an RE or clinic that I wasn't truly happy with. I hope that you get your BFP this cycle and will not longer have to deal with any unprofessionalism.

KentuckyTTC - Good luck on your IUI! I don't have much advice as I've only had one so far, but I would say the one thing I learned was ...try to wait to AF until testing! It will save you a lot of stress and money on those pee sticks. Now, if only I was able to take my own advice haha....

veejay80 - I'm about to start my second IUI as well (hopefully) soon. Those follie sizes are fantastic and I still think that 6 mil is perfectly fine, as long as they're all moving - it really only takes one to make it! It sounds like you and forever are both doing anything and everything (i.e. pineapple core, acupuncture, etc.) to make this work! I'm trying a more relaxed approach for now, as to try to not stress myself out, but I'm definitely keeping an eye on those who are doing it...I hope you have success! After all, I don't think it could hurt :)

alethia - I think it's a good sign that AF hasn't started yet when it was supposed to! Do you usually always get brown spotting beforehand or is this something new? If it's new, it could also be a good sign. Fingers crossed for you xx

As for me, I'm in the beginning of my second IUI cycle. I took Femara from CD3-7 and went in for my CD10 Ultrasound today. But they said, although I have many follies, they are all too small :( My largest ones were an 8mm and a 12mm. So I have to start all over again...my RE doubled up my dosage of Femara and I'm going to take it for the next 5 days. Then I have another ultrasound scheduled on Thursday to see if I have any at least 20mm or close.

I feel like this cycle is already starting off all wrong but I also feel more relaxed this cycle. I don't feel as much pressure as I did with the first one - I had high expectations even though I told myself not too. This time my expectations are starting off low...and even though I would love to be proven wrong, I understand that I may have to try another time (or more!) before I get my rainbow baby. I'm crossing my fingers that these follies grow!

Alethia, stay positive! The fact AF hasn't shown yet is a good thing. My fingers are crossed for you that it stays right away and you see a positive sign there soon. We are all so in tune to every little thing our body does during this time that it is difficult to know what means what....especially when pregnancy signs and AF signs are so similar. Just nothing to do but stay as calm (and distracted as possible ;-)) and wait!

HopefulSoloMum, I know the feeling of being alone. I too have a lot of family and friend support, but no-one is there when I am doubled over in pain from cramping at 3am when AF arrives (has anyone else noticed how awful AF is during this time? Mine are usually painless and the last one after the meds was insane). It was not my ideal choice, when I was married we tried to conceive and then the marriage ended. I had been with my most recent partner (at the end of last year) for 6 months when I got a low fertility test back. He didnt want to be a dad and I didnt want to give up the chance of becoming a Mum so our relationship ended and I had the choice between egg freezing or using a donor. Through MelbourneIVF all donors are anonymous but I have a wealth of de-identified data about him and it was important to me that he was open to contact from the child in the future which this man was. After this cycle I have to move to IVF for a new donor which means another 4 month wait until I get to the top of the list. So fingers crossed this one is the lucky one for both of us!!!!!

Forever: the trigger shot always knocks me around but more tiredness rather than ill. At least we know it is working when it makes us feel ill I guess. Hope you are still feeling good. I strongly believe in the power of positive thinking.

Leanna: My follies were quite small also (on CD 7 though) and I upped my dosage of medication (Puregon injections) and 4 days later they had really taken off and I got two good sized ones. Hoping your follies get a bit of a growth spurt also...I think your relaxed attitude sounds ideal. Keep us updated!!

AFM: Day 2 postIUI and I am crying at the most silly things. Stupid hormones. I have to do another pregnyl shot Monday and Friday to assist implantation....otherwise the waiting game continues! Spent a good 20 minutes doubled over on the floor of the kitchen this morning with cramping. I didn't get that last month - not sure what I can put that down too. Maybe a little more painful IUI. On a good note, the acupuncture has been one of the best things I have done though. Not so much for the fertility but I walk out of there completely de-stressed and relaxed and it has inspired me to slow my pace of life a little which I feel is a great thing during this waiting period. The deep belly breathing has been great and my circulation has improved. I will definitely continue with it after these fertility months are over.

Looking forward to checking in with you all. BFPs here we come!!!

Alethia - any news?

Nothing new going on here, just wanting to check in with everyone.
This holiday weekend proved difficult to lay low. My family are big partiers so i tried to limit my activity as much as possible. But i drank lots of water with fruit and relaxed in the pool. So all in all we had a great weekend. I keep telling myself we're going to wait on AF before we do any testing. We'll see how that goes. If I'm on my normal cycle, she should be here by the 17th. RE said if AF isn't here by the 20th we'll go for blood work. The past 2 cycles i tested out the trigger but that just leads to poas addiction! Anyhow, hope everyone had a great holiday weekend! Send updates!

Hi ladies,

Just signed up to twoweekwait.com and thank goodness for it! I'm 30, husband is 33. We're both completely fine and have been Ttc for almost a year with No luck!! Just had our first iui July 1st. Was on follistim for 10 days prior and then the trigger shot 6/29. Had one mature egg and husbands sperm count was great. Really hoping I'm pregnant and am feeling so many symptoms. Sore breasts, having to pee in the middle of the night, extreme fatigue, nausea on and off! But i know this could be the trigger shot side effects! Am I crazy for reading into all this?! I really want to test early but I'm trying to stop myself. Plus I know it's way too early!

Hello! Just joined. Husband is 35 and myself 32. Been ttc for 4 years found out husband has low sperm count. He has been on clomid for 8 months and it is helping. We go in tomorrow for our second IUI. First round was unsuccessful. A little nervous about it. Fingers crossed round two works like a charm!

Niknak1: Good luck!! Sounds positive. The drugs can be exhausting. I had just about every symptom the first round. You're not crazy just hopeful as you should be. This is a long, stressful process.

Hopefully there are lots of positives in July!!
