Hi Everyone!

This is my first post on here. I had my 1st IUI done this past Friday 8-21-15. Today is 5dpo. We have been trying for 14 months with no success on our own so I have high hopes for IUI! Good luck to everyone!

This was #5 (total dr assisted IUI; doesn't include the amateur at-home tries!). Now, thru IUI #6 - we investigate more about what our insurance will cover and ask more questions about IVF. I'm trying hard not to be bitter this round, but it's tough. If you'd like to connect on Twitter, we're tweeting at @MrsAndMrsTTC.

I wish all you ladies the best of luck! *BabyDust*

Sorry doll. Best wishes moving forward :)

And then you have the random inquiries " when are you going to have a baby". I have been "working on it" for 3 years people. Get a clue! I don't need to write it down for the world to see (except here of course)... The whole thing is just frustrating. I am on my 6dpiui and I have a hard time to believe it worked....trying to read all the positive stories Out there...I just don't want to get disappointed again...

Those questions are the worst. I actually semi-snapped on someone at work - whoops! Haha! It's this one old, nosy broad who needs to know EVERYTHING! This was a few months back, we had a cupcake truck visiting our work. I get on my flowiest shirt and am ready to inhale those delectable beauties. In front of the truck she calls me out "Sam, why are you wearing such a flowy shirt?" "Uhm, cupcake day, duh!" "Come on, tell us the truth. What are you hiding there?" "My fat cupcake gut, geeze!" ---- Later on she came to my desk and goes "Come on, tell me the truth, you were wearing that shirt for a reason." So I blurted out "Listen, I'm infertile. I can't get pregnant." Look of shock, to which I continued "Don't ask questions you're not ready to hear the answer to."

I keep the whole thing pretty hush hush except for a few people who still, you can tell, don't fully grasp the weight of it. Once I am knocked up successfully, I'll be honest about it. Infertility isn't a dirty word, but it's hard to share with people who will never understand.

It works ladies!!! 14dpiui today and I got a BFP!! My HCG is 112.5. My Hubs and I took the test together and watched it slowly turn positive. We cried and hugged and thanked God. We have had a rough time TTC a sibling for our son with multiple losses and couple surgeries and and almost successful iui in April (started spotting before my BFP and lost 5 days later)
We are praying for a healthy, full term rainbow :))

For those of you in the 2ww, here are my symptoms....
-major O pain the day of iui
-became super sleepy & moody around 4dpiui
-sore/full breasts
-chin breakout at 6dpiui (odd for me)
-sharp cramps/twinges 7dpiui
-crampiness, similar to AF starting 8dpiui and continuing now

I also ate pineapple core 2-6dpiui and am on a probiotic, COQ10, baby Asprin, extra Folic Acid and Endometrin suppositories since 2dpiui

Best wishes and love to you all!!

Thanks so much doll!

Your post above about your co-woker makes me chuckle!! So true that people just don't get it. It's funny to feel more comfortable telling strangers about our struggles because at least we know they understand :)

Yay, congrats, praying! That's a beautiful second pink line, there :)

Tanoushka and mtnscrumble, I can totally relate! Although I'll admit I never realized how insensitive the "when are you planning to have kids" question was until I became so uncomfortable answering it myself. People just have no clue. I've snapped myself saying things like "turns out it's not so easy for everyone." I know I shouldn't but it's like you automatically become protective and defensive at the thought of those types of comments. I'm with you mtnscrumble, our infertility isn't necessarily a secret but also not something I've been open with, other than my close family/friends. Fingers crossed we see more bfp's this cycle ladies! I'm only 3dpiui today but so far, not going completely insane ;)
