Feeling down

Postby WishinAndHopinCO » Tue Sep 22, 2015 10:47 am

First time poster here:

Let me start with a little info about myself. I am 32 and DH is 33. We have a 9 year old DD and 6 year old DS. We have been TTC for 16 months. During that time I only had one period not induced by medication. I have been diagnosed with PCOS. After 13 months we decided to visit a RE. We went through all the various tests and decided that a Clomid/ovidrel IUI was the way to go. Since I never really have a cycle my RE said I could start my Clomid cycle randomly. I took 50 mg for 5 days. On what they considered cycle day 14 I went in for my follicle scan and was told I had one 24 mm follicle and one 15 mm. My lining was only 5.5 so they put me in vaginal estrace and I triggered that night with 250 ovidrel. I went in on 9/11 for my IUI. My hubby contributed 12 mil post wash with 97% motility and my lining increased to 9! I was feeling pretty good.
Today I am 11 dpiui and got a negative HPT. I feel like I am out this cycle. I feel sad and that most people cannot relate to what I am going through. Whenever someone hears I am going through infertility treatments they normally respond that at least I already have 2 kids. I love my kids and feel so grateful for them, but I know my family is not complete. My DH keeps telling me it is still early and that I could still be pregnant, but I just have a gut feeling it did not work. To make matters worse, I keep feeling like I have symptoms, but I don't know if it because I am taking progesterone or because I want to be pregnant so badly.
Has anyone gotten a negative HPT 11dpiui and received a positive later? Do I still have a chance?

I have PCOS as well. It can be tricky. Just remember to stay positive and calm. Stress only makes it worse I promise. As for people and their negative comments I get it. Try to push them out. I get the " well you are still really young you have plenty of time" or " maybe you should just let your wife carry" Believe me everyone wants to have an opinion or help you. Just let it go in the ear and out the other for your own sanity. As for your question I would definitely re test. Just with my experience my 2nd IUI I got AF around 10piui and thought I was out so I never re tested. Turns out a week or so later when I started spotted at day 24piui I took a test and I was three weeks pregnant. We unfortunately lost it but had a not tested again I would have thought the IUI gave me two periods back to back. SO definitely retest and stay positive.

Thanks for the replies. I did retest and AF started last night. I won't be able to try again this month because I will be out of town during ovulation. I am very hopeful it will work when we try again in November.

thank you for sharing your story. I've been new to the infertility scene, (we've been TTC for 10 months) and I enjoy reading others stories because at that moment I feel not alone. I'm curious, were your first 2 conceived naturally or did you have assisted conception?
