IUI 9/24

Postby SDH » Wed Sep 23, 2015 7:24 pm

Anyone want to be my TWW buddy? I have PCOS and We've been TTC for over a year and did 5 months of BD with lexotril (sp) and menopor (sp) without any luck. Went in today to check my status thinking we would do the IUI Friday. 2 good size guys on my left :). Blood work came back that I was starting to surge... Trigger tonight, IUI tomorrow afternoon. I'm scared I've gotten my hopes up too high - it's crushing to get the BFN. Any and all support would be appreciated! Best of luck to everyone out there!

I had my first IUI Sept. 25. Hopeful, but terrified to become too hopeful. We started trying July 2014 and started working with an infertility specialist February 2015. February 2015-June 2015 we lost a lot of time with my cycles being so irregular.

I did femara/follistim/ovidrel July 2015 and August 2015 and produced two good follicles each time = BFN.

Current cycle:
Femara cd 3-7
Follistim @ 50 iu cycle days 7-11.
Sept. 23 US (cd 12): two follicles on left side, 16 and 18. Ovidrel at 11:15 p.m.
Sept. 25 (cd 14): First IUI. Husbands count was 19.6 million.
CD 15: started twice/day pills for lining

I have PCOS. Characteristics: irregular periods (often have to kick-start them with progesterone) and have had cysts on ovaries (haven't seen any on ultrasounds since July 2014). I'm very healthy, physically active and a healthy eater. I have even backed down on my workouts and put on a few healthy pounds, as my exercise routines were very intense. I've reduced my alcohol and coffee consumption to meet my doctors recommendations. My husband is very proud of his "super swimmers."

Good luck Katieg3!!! How do you feel the IUI went? How have you been feeling since? This TWW is miserable! Trying to stay busy and get a lot of rest. When do you do blood work next? I have a progesterone blood test Friday - I use progesterone suppositories. 11 more days to be patient!
Have a great week!

The IUI was slightly uncomfortable, but overall fine (nothing compared to the HSG!). I had one episode of minimal spotting, which they said to expect. The biggest side effect was feeling as if I had a "full" bladder, or a very "bouncy" bladder as I was walked. Overall I feel fine. I have woke up hot in the middle of the night the past couple nights, but I'm trying not to let myself look into that as it's pretty usual for me.

I have been dreaming BFP the past few nights, however. I don't usually have dreams I remember. I almost don't want to wake up in the morning so I can stay in the dream :) But again, REALLY trying not to let myself invest much into this.

I will test on Oct. 9. (16 days post ovidrel as instructed by doctor) and we'll take it from there. We are prepared to do IUI#2 in October if this month doesn't work.

The TWW is killing me (and unfortunately we're at the start of it!)... our best friends announced their pregnancy yesterday (it was also our wedding anniversary); as happy as we are for them, it hurts. We have a very small support system, for the most part nobody has any idea what we're going through. I've been stalking these boards and finally decided it would be helpful to be active on them :)

SDH how are you feeling-- symptoms?

SDH and Katie good luck !! We're starting the first iui this cycle, today was cD7. I still feel confused and like there's a lot I don't understand about the process. I've been doing a lot of reading on forums and watching YouTube vlogs.

Katie - IUI was really uncomfortable but otherwise I was fine by the time I left and didn't feel any differently afterwards. They took an ultrasound picture and that was interesting and weird. This last week I've been more tired than imaginable and for no real reason - I've been going to bed early and sleeping through the night but like you said - I'm not wanting to look to much into it.

My mom and sister have been a great support system for me but they aren't going through it and neither of them had fertility issues so it's nice to chat with someone else that's on the same page.

I have to wait until the 8th to test.
Friday I had my progesterone test and consult. My numbers have never been over 22 and they were at 47 Friday! Even if we don't get the BFP I know more happened this cycle than previously. Before the pregnancy tests we have to have a consult with our dr to decide our next course of action in case it's a BFN. We've done 5 cycles of lexotrol and menopur with intercourse and no luck... We had been thinking we would go IVF next but hubby and I decided to go IUI again if necessary.

Amma- I recommend doing research and reading what you can about the process and obviously talking with your dr. The more you know the easier the process is. Hope everyone has a great week and lots of baby dust to everyone!

Devastated... September IUI = BFN. Try again.
Letrozol, Menopur, Ovidril, IUI, progesterone. If that is still unsuccessful, then IVF in November. Katie - sorry you're going through the same thing I am now.

I cried in my office all day yesterday... Definitely the worst breakdown yet. Today has been better, eyes are still puffy though. I'm taking off Monday - I go back to the dr and I know it is going to be a rough day. Deep breaths and I'm here for you!

Let me know how Monday's doctor visit goes :) Sounds like we're close to same cycle. I'm praying cd# 1 comes tmrw so we can get this show on the road, lol.

Katieg3 - Next IUI is scheduled for Thursday... The nurse did the US today and I don't feel as confident that she saw all of my follicles or their size. She said I had 2 on my right that are 18 and 1 on the left that is a 10-11. She called today to schedule the IUI and said that my Dr wouldn't be there to do it and that she would do the procedure. She said the Dr said that maybe she would be the magic trick that gets me the BFP... I think I'm spoiled from always having my Dr do everything, ugh I'm a brat haha. How are you feeling? Where are you in your cycle?
