I am a first time poster! DH and I have been TTC for 18months with no luck. Our consultant has given us the option of having 3 cycles of IUI and if they don't work it'll be IVF.
My question is, has anyone any IUI success stories? My research shows a very low success rate. Would I be better off going straight to IVF? It's such a big decision to make!
Any happy success stories would be much appreciated.

Iui's succes rates are higher when there is sperm or ovulation problems.
If ur partner doesn't have any problems and you ovulate regularly i personally wouldn't do it but that is a personal decision,Ivf is expensive and very stressful but also gives the best chances.
Good luck to you!

I had two IUI's. The second was successful, but unfortunately ended in miscarriage. I have no issues, neither does my husband. I did take Femara and injectibles my second IUI, which I think helped greatly. IUI is definitely a much cheaper option. And in my case insurance covered 6 rounds I think. It is definitely worth a shot before moving on to the way more expensive IVF in my opinion. Good luck!

Thanks for your replies.
I've been diagnosed with PCOS and started on metformin, this is my 3rd month taking it. Was hoping that alone would help but unfortunately not.
I've decided to start the IUI process in December. It's worth a shot

I have set myself a 6 IUI goal. If I'm not pregnant within 6 cycles of IUI, I'll then look at other options. I'm in an IUI success group on Facebook and a lot of women have had success within 4-6 cycles. I'm happy to continue with that as I really don't want to do IVF.

There is hope with IUI. I'm in a same sex relationship and got pregnant on first round of IUI with injectables. I have PCOS and used donor sperm, no other health issues. I hope this helps to give you hope x

With my first child we used IUI and it worked on the second try. Now we’re trying for baby #2 and we just did our 4th IUI and are in the tww. It does work but I think it depends on your situation. For us it’s definitely cheaper to do the IUI.
