Hey everyone! I've been quiet but I've been trying to keep up. We got a bfp past week & had blood tests to confirm. Hcg levels are pretty low so we're cautiously optimistic. I'll have an ultrasound on the 23rd. I might go in for another hcg test this week to make sure numbers are still rising. My first beta hcg was 23.6 so positive pregnancy, but not a great number.

Lyn, best of luck with this IUI! I only use clear blue digital tests for ovulation now when I'm getting close. I use the cheap strips earlier, but I can't read them at all.

Soshy, hang in there! I hope you're feeling better!

Karo, fingers crossed that those are actually pregnancy symptoms symptoms & you'll get your bfp!!

Enigma8a, I know you didn't ask me, but it took 4 IUI's to get pregnant with our son (sperm count was 18 million that time). This time it took 3 IUI's (sperm count was down to 9 million).

Prayingforourredhead, I'm sorry to hear that your test was negative :( my test at 14dpiui still looked negative. I had to take a digital to get a positive. Fingers crossed that you get your bfp soon!

Thank you for sharing that. That really helps. I just feel like i'm wasting time and money and my emotional well being on this process and it will never work. It really helps to hear that it does for some folks. I just turned 36 and it feels like the odds are not in my favor.

Prayingforourredhead, thank you! I'll try to keep updating as I go. I'm really hoping it sticks as well! I'm such a worry wart so I'm trying to keep myself busy. I'm so sorry to hear that af started. 3rd times a charm!

Soshy, you're too funny! I get tiny cramps on/off so I'm still peeing on sticks.....because we all know that helps ***insert eye roll here*** LOL I can't wait to see more bfp's!!!

Enigm8a, I felt like it was a waste, especially when so many people say IUI's never work. I know plenty of people where it did work. Including myself. For me, I can do 6-7 IUI's & it would still be cheaper than 1 IVF cycle. Emotionally draining to do all of the IUI's for sure, but financially IVF just wasn't in the budget for us. Our only issue that we found was low sperm count. His numbers went down by a few million each month this time. I tried to remain positive with our lowest count ever & it worked! I'm about to turn 37 in a few months :)

Haha not weird at all! I always wanted to be a young mom in my early 20's, but I have come to realize that I'm much better in my mid-late 30's than I ever could have been in my 20's. I have my fingers & toes crossed for you!!

My IUI was yesterday at 11am. Husbands sperm count came in the highest it’s ever came in 34,000 but post wash it was 5.2 million. I’m a bit worried with the nurse that did our IUI this time. Typically the physician assistant or charge nurse does our IUI. I really like the nurse and have a good relationship with her but she seem like she didn’t know exactly what she was doing with the IUI. She pulled the Sperm up the syringe and was having a hard time gettin it all in the syringe. So she dumped the sperm back in the holder got a new syringe and pulled the sperm through. I asked if she had does this before and she said yes. My husband has retrograde ejaculation where the Sperm go backwards and end up in urine so his count is low. They have to pull must sperm from his urine. We need all the sperm we can get. Feel like we lost some with her shuffling around syringes. Trying to be positive. But the entire thing just didn’t seem right. Am I over reacting? What are your thoughts? This didn’t happen before. IUI hurt this time never hurt before

Hey Lynn17 with my second iui I had spotting and cramping after which made it uncomfortable to have intercourse after. Remember you told me last month it only takes 1, so let's hope that she didn't mess up your chances with lucky #3. Don't stress too much!
Karo- how are you feeling? Your two weeks are almost up. We actually are 1 day apart. Any symptoms?

Lynn 17, I did have some pain during the IUI depending on who did it. Sometimes it's a little discomfort & other times it was painful cramps. This IUI that worked for us was weird. I had never seen this particular nurse before & while she was knowledgeable she seemed off. She had to basically do the IUI twice. After she did the IUI she said she needed to do another pass because there was still some sperm left in the tube. It hurt a lot more than other times & I had never had someone need to insert the catheter past my cervix a 2nd time to finish the procedure. I was convinced that she did something wrong & it wouldn't work. I'm hopeful that while it was strange for her to change syringes, it still works for you!! I've had problems with some syringes while drawing up vaccines & had to change, maybe that what was happening with her?

Karo, thanks! I'm so excited! I'm also still peeing on sticks. I have a problem LOL

Hey! I’m new to this but my wife & I are going to make our first ever appointment in a fertility clinic to go through with iui. I’ve been doing a lot of research and I’m 25 with no known fertility problems and an extremely regular cycle...every 28 days without fail!!
I’m just wondering from the very first appointment how long it takes for the actual procedure and is there a better date to make the appointment? I.e A week before AF arrives or a week after? Sorry this is my first post but I’m just someone that cannot wait so I want to get to the procedure ASAP from my first appointment. Hope someone replies!!x

Tomorrow is cycle day 3 and I start Femara again ...so here goes cycle #3 ...fingers crossed for us all!

Good Morning, Ladies.

Yesterday had a drop in my BBT so I was waiting for AF. By the afternoon there was spotting. Ugh! Was kind of hoping it was late implantation but with no avail AF showed up this morning. There were times when I would just have a just cried my eyes out but I think yesterday prepared me for the inevitable. I already have an appointment with my Fertility Doctor on Friday. So I will beginning round 2. It was a strange coincidence that yesterday morning the clinic that we will go to for IVF called to set up an appointment for our consult.

Lyn...Sending positive thoughts your way!!! Lucky #3

Jennifer94...Before my IUI by Doctor wanted a bunch of test done so that can hinder how soon you can start. Usually the HSG test is done on cycle day 10-12. My doctor also required genetic testing which took almost three weeks to get the results back. Hope that helps.
