Babydreams- Thank you...I’m excited to have two this time! Idk? I don’t ovulate on my own and last month was our first IUI...we had our IUI at 4pm on a Monday with a Saturday Ovidrel last time too..I know I had super slippery wet CM and swollen down there at around 10-11am on IUI day...but was also worried I missed O as well...this time I’m going to try and wait to trigger until midnight to give us more time? Thoughts??

Do you happen to feel ovulation? When I'm on medications & using ovidrel it hurts when I ovulate. I've found that I ovulate roughly 34-37 hours after the injection. My fertility specialist always does the IUI 24 hours after trigger since the sperm can live much longer than the egg & they don't want to miss the egg(s). This time I chose to have the IUI 34 hours after the ovidrel injection since I've been consistent on ovulating later. Also, since my hubby has low counts I didn't want to have the IUI too early as research shows that the sperm quantity & quality decreases after 6-12 hours. This cycle I did my injection at 4:10 am on Tuesday with a 2:30 pm IUI on Wednesday. Ovulation happens 24-36 hours (roughly) after the ovidrel injection, even for people that don't ovulate on their own.

I honestly can’t say I felt anything other than my CM and swollen down under ..although this time I actually felt which side my follicles were on...before they told me..so maybe I will feel it this time as I get better at figuring this out since I am actually ovulating on these meds.

It's hard to say when to do it. Personally, I wouldn't do it past 36 hours. My office prefers 24 hours since the egg is only good for 12-24 hours & sperm can live for a couple of days. I've read conflicting information on this for washed sperm, but mine assured me that washed sperm does live for a couple of days. When we got pregnant 3 years ago we always did 36 hours. So this time we did the baby dance on Monday morning, triggered Tuesday morning for a Wednesday IUI. That way if I happened to ovulate early there should still be some swimming around prior to the IUI.

I'd say that you are feeling it, but since it's new you might not recognize it right away. I don't really feel ovulation without meds. Are you using opk's? I had to use them on Monday afternoon & Tuesday morning before triggering to make sure I wasn't surging on my own. If it came back positive I would have had to do the IUI within 24 hours.

Last month I used OPK and didn’t get anything just like all the last months until after I triggered...was the first time ever to see the smiley face. So this time I said I wasn’t going to keep wasting them and trust the doctors.
We BD’d yesterday when we got home. We will BD tonight, I’ll take the trigger at midnight and then IUI on Monday...I really hope we don’t miss it..
Sorry for late response ..left my phone on the room while we were at water park, and we were exhausted when we came up to the room.

You're timing sounds perfect! It's good to not get a smiley face when you're using the trigger shot so in your case it's nice that you don't ovulate on your own (only for the sake or treatments, it's a bummer in general because it makes you go through treatments in the first place) . Makes the timing easier to figure out. I tested every 2-3 hours just to make sure it stayed negative. Super excessive lol but since I already got the tests I figured might as well use them. This was the first time I was told to use them before triggering because I had one larger follicle & I was close to ovulation. From what they told me if you surge on your own only one egg would likely release whereas using the shot makes them all release. That's why they said to use opk's & if it came back positive I had to immediately give the shot to hopefully get them all to release & do the IUI sooner. I don't even know how true that all is but I figured it couldn't hurt to do this month since it might be our last try.

Was the water park fun? We've been there once, but didn't stay the night.

Thanks Babydreams! We are still here, spending two nights! It’s a blast and the kids are having a great time. Just ate lunch, giving my son a nap...while rest go back down to the water park! It’s crazy because it’s snowing like crazy outside and we can see it while we are in the water park! Feels like we are in a snow globe!:)

That's so cool! I love snow! I bet it's strange to be warm & swimming while watching snow fall :) our son was just under 2 years old when we went & he had a blast. They did a bubble party at night that he enjoyed so much

Yay for IUI being done!! Two follicles & a better sperm count! Making memories is the so fun! That's awesome! I'm 5 days in my tww & I'm getting anxious for next Wednesday. We're just chilling at home today. My son decided he needed an early nap today so I'm snuggling with him while he sleeps

Babydreams- Snuggles are the best!! Love those times!
Postive thoughts for all of us!
Question - how do you calculate your two weeks, do you count the day of the IUI or start with day after?
Just wondering I started counting the day after last time

I love the snuggles. It also gets me out of doing chores LOL
I count the next day as day 1. So 14 days for me would be the 28th (had the IUI on the 14th). I'm doing progesterone suppositories so I have to test on day 14 even if I haven't started my period. They say it can delay your period from starting even if not pregnant, but I've always started on time.
