Good luck Andy and Andy! So, weird things happened after my last post. I went in for u/s and labs on CD9, my follies were still growing, E2 slowly rising, and RE wanted me to go up to 100 for my Follistim dose on eves of CD9 and CD10, take OPK CD10 AM and PM, then go back in CD11 8am for labs and u/s. CD11 afternoon RE calls to say 4 follies growing and in mid-upper 20s, E2 not quite doubled but progesterone is high, which is concerning to him. He was going to have labwork reviewed again but in the meantime told me to trigger at 6pm that night. CD12 afternoon RE calls to say IUI is off this cycle - appears I already ovulated!
Does anyone know if anything happens if you ovulate and then do a trigger shot???
We'll see in 2 weeks what happens...

Oh no!!! I was super worried about that too bc according to my calendar I was supposed to O on fri. And when I went in for an u/s and blood draw on cd14 she said my LH was only a 2 which is nowhere near ovulation ...I'm just surprised they didn't catch this with all of the appointments u went to!!

Andy - they are too! They said straight up they do not know how we missed my o'ing - I had labs CD7 (or
, CD9, 10 and 12 and I did OPK CD11 AM and PM that turned out neg. So weird. Of course, the latest on my follies were that I had 4 of them in the upper 20s in size, so I have been wondering if you can ovulate twice...I really don't think you can, aside from releasing more than one egg at the one time you ovulate. Anyway, I'm just gonna ride out another 2WW and see what happens.

Boo!! Well I'm sorry that happened to you...I hope it wasn't a very expensive blunder =(
Does insurance cover anything?
Fri Dec 27, 2013 7:26 am
Luckily, my insurance covers the bulk of the costs so far. I have a $100 copay for the Follistim and I've been able to order a larger amount than necessary (to stockpile) and my $100 copay has covered. My monthly Femara has cost $10, and my trigger $100. My IUIs are $240 out of pocket, so considering the other options and procedures, we've been able to TTC for MANY months at a pretty reasonable cost. I know others who have to pay so much more, so I'm thankful.

Hey guys, another success story here to motivate you.
We did Follistim, 75IU (11 nights CD3-14) (after 3 failed clomid rounds)
Follies on CD 13 = 1@20mm, 3@15mm or smaller
Trigger CD15, Ovulated CD17, BD at home (no IUI)
BFP at 10 dpo
Beta at 11dpo = 98!
(beta not repeated by my choice)
7 week ultrasound shows TWINS!
I was TOTALLY depressed the whole time I took the meds, even skipped a night I was too depressed to shoot myself in the tummy.
We waited one day longer than suggested to trigger (my doc is trigger happy)
The smaller follie must have matured and caught up in that extra day.
I didn't take any supplements except EPO, and progesterone after BFP.
Anyway, even when it seems like the darkest time and it won't work, it just might, so don't lose hope!
Your story gives me hope I'm on follitisum too for 11 days. Then am going to try bd at home this time not iui!!!!

This makes me feel crazy. I had about 10 mature follicles this time! No wonder I am hurting! It's not normal!

I think the most I had on injectables was 6follies and i developed a light form of OHSS,it was hell, painful, bloated,I couldn't walk or sleep,Gatorade helped a bit with that.be sure to monitor your weight and if you get too bloated and gained too much weight in one day call ur doc.

Yea, thats exactly what I have going on. This happened last time too. Last time (after BFN-idk about during 2WW) the doctor told me to take Benadryl and Ibuprofen. He was so worried that he gave me his cell phone number! This time is not quite so bad, but I have heard that if you get pregnant in this state you can expect the symptoms to last longer. The coming of AF will make the ovaries shrink back down.

Oh yes if you get pregnant the symptoms will prelong Bcs of the hcg in ur body.If you OHSS last time why didn't he lowered your dose?is about quality and not quantity.

He did. He has tried to adjust it every time. Last time i was on 3 amps/vials. On 2 vials I didn't respond. This time I was on 2 1/2. I either overstimulate or not at all. The last time he cancelled my cycle. I think he didn't this time because he believes I have low quality eggs at my age and my chart with him is getting pretty thick. Although his name is Dr. Doody (HEHE) he is one of the best, so I am lucky to have him. I swear, I love that guy. LOL

Ah I understand now.Maybe he should change ur meds,I used GonalF and Pergoveris last 2times,the Pergoveris stuff is stupid expensive but is good.
Mon Mar 07, 2016 7:24 am
I'm on HMG and I have to buy that from England. So I would not be able to afford the Gonal f. I'm hoping this cycle is it because if not I have to meet with the doctor to discuss "my options", which im pretty sure = option = IVF. EEk!
Mon Mar 07, 2016 8:21 am
I don't know what HMG is but i think GonalF is worth it,I know ivf is pricey but definitely take other medications in consideration.Better to have 3 eggs top quality than 10 low quality.

Im on a hybrid cycle of orals & injectables, and i only had a 15.5, 14, 12 and several smaller ones. They said tho, from doing ivf, they know that even 14s have mature eggs inside the follie.
