Postby noahsuperman » Fri Mar 01, 2013 9:58 pm

Hey girls...it's been a LONG time since i've been on. we pretty much stopped all fertility things may 2011 and we were living in differnent states for 9 mths...but now we're back in the saddle.
I'm currently on day 4 of clomid 50mg and day 2 of menipur 150...i will take the clomid 50mg for 5days and then the menipur for 3-4. it's been so long since i've taken any fertility meds, i wanted to see what everyone has taken in the past and what has worked. Thanks!

50 mg of Femara--3 days, 150 mg of Follistim for 5 days, 150 Ganilrelix--1 day, 0vidrel trigger shot 250 mg.

Follicles responded well. Just took ovidrel last night, so I don't know how it's going to turn out. Lol.

Good luck!

Hi noah! I remember you from then. Hope things work out soon for you. I have PCOS and was considered by my RE as fairly hard to stimulate (apparently 150u of repronex is a big dose if you aren't doing IVF?). Here's what I've done before:

Cycle #1: Femara 5mg cd3-7, Follistim 100iu cd7-10, Repronex 150u cd 11-13...RE cancelled at that point for "no response" but I O'd on my own a week later

Cycle #2: Femara 5mg cd3-7, Repronex 150u cd7-15, two syringes of ovidrel cd16...two mature follicles

Cycle #3: Femara 5mg cd3-7, Repronex 150u cd5-13, coasted cd14&15 (no meds), two syringes of ovidrel cd16...four mature follicles resulted in a triplet pregnancy. We had tried starting the repronex sooner to see if I would ovulate earlier. All it did was make more follicles respond, but they were still slower to grow.

Cycle #4: Follistim 100iu cd3-11, ovidrel cd12. I was using a new RE this cycle. He only did one follicle tracking ultrasound on cd9 and told me I would need a couple more days of follistim and then take the trigger. I honestly don't think anything was mature at that point and don't know how many were responding.

Cycle #5: Follistim 100iu cd3-13, ovidrel cd14. I gave the new RE another chance. Again, he told me 4-5 follicles were responding on cd9 and I should trigger cd12. I waited a couple of days to trigger and ended up with a chemical pregnancy that month.

Cycle #6: Femara cd3-7, follistim 100iu cd7-9, 125iu cd10-15, two syringes of ovidrel cd 16...I was back with my old RE and had one mature follicle. One is all it took to get my son :D

thanks girls! hawkeye, i remember you...congrats on your now 1yo!
heelsgirl, good luck to you!

had my u/s today...2 follies on the left 14 and 16...the nurse was pretty disappointed...and i guess the RE was too. i have to do 2 more days of 150 menopur and another u/s on wednesday. our insurance isn't paying for anything...my u/s and lab today were $350 and then another $300 for more meds...is there some place online where you can buy cheaper drugs? i thought i remember that from a couple years ago.

I wouldn't give up on that 16mm follicle! The cycle that I conceived my son results in only one mature follicle (and a second that was questionable). I was disappointed and my RE's nurse wasnt very optimistic, but one is all that it took to get my son :D Hang in there! I'll keep my fingers crossed that they both keep going.
