Injectibles + IUI, stimmed too fast?

Postby mrsprince8 » Tue Feb 03, 2015 11:15 am

Hi everyone, I just wanted to get your opinions on my first injectibles + IUI cycle. I'm a bit concerned because I believe that I stimmed too quickly. The RE put me on 150IU of Follistim. That sounded high to me since I always responded to lower doses of Clomid and Femara, just no BFP. I started CD3 and on CD 6 my u/s appointment showed an 18mm follicle and two smaller ones at 15mm and 16mm and was told my lining looked good. I was told to trigger the evening of CD7 and had my IUI the morning of CD9. Meanwhile I had a HSG on CD7 (all clear). Does this sound way too fast to any of you? I've never heard or read of anybody stimming for 4 days and it all ending well. I'm concerned the egg quality would be very poor. And would having the HSG only 2 days before hurt any chances? Any thoughts?

Hi mrsprince8,
I've never heard of a four day injection cycle but I'm no expert nor have I been researching enough to know. I'm on my 3rd IUI cycle and the last two I did 8 and 9 days of injections respectively. Good luck and baby dust....

Hi Achef!
I'm fairly certain that the RE didn't think that I would respond so quickly to that dose. However, if 4 days is too short and might result in poor egg quality, why would she have me go ahead and have the IUI? Good luck to you on this cycle! *baby dust*

Well, just wanted to follow up somewhat. My test date is tomorrow, but I've taken two tests, one on Monday and another this morning, both IC and they are both squinters. Very very very faint lines that you could miss if you just glanced at it. I also took a CBE test this morning and that was very faint as well. I'm not too hopeful since the line hasn't gotten any darker from Monday and my bbs and armpits have stopped hurting now. I guess I'll see if the tests get darker in the next few days.
