DD keeps breaking my heart...

Postby ambernicole8484 » Fri Jul 26, 2013 4:22 am

It always happens at random moments. Everything will be all fine and dandy and then BOOM! She reminds me that she's lonely and wants a sibling. When she was younger she even asked other random people if they would give her a sister or brother. I feel so guilty and like I'm failing her. Sometimes I think I could actually reach a point where I'm okay with not having another child, and then I see DD playing alone in her room. Swinging by herself. Playing video games alone. Begging for attention and distraction. Always alone. I feel horrible for causing her to live almost 10 years of her life without a brother or sister to share it with.

I understand. My dd has wanted a sibling since she was 2. She has asked santa, easter bunny, grandparents, wanted it on her bday list etc. I am heartbroken when she is basically begging for attention. When I'm cleaning house or cooking dinner she is just going crazy for attention that she wouldn't need had we conceived when we wanted to. I wanted my kids about 2 years apart and she will be 6 come October. It truly hurts.

It's nice to know that I'm not alone in this. My DD will be 10 in Jan. and I too ideally wanted 3 kids about 2 years apart. I feel your pain :(

I see that IUI was suggested to you. When will you be doing your first one? I wish IUI and even IVF were options for me, but my insurance, that isn't even active yet, will only cover testing and repair. Really not sure what exactly that means, but it plainly sas no IUI or IVF :( I'm hoping to have the HSG either next cycle or the one after that, and I have endo so I'm hoping that's what's holding me up. If I have to go further than that I don't know what I'll do?

I start Clomid next cycle. Somewhere aroun Aug 16. Then its 3 rounds of clomid and iui suppose to happen. Not sure how that will work. Probably havr to wait until Jan or Feb to start. This month was back to school and cheer expenses, dd birthday is Oct., then Christmas in Dec. Since insurance doesn't cover re or iui will prob b around Feb before I can even get to the re. Fx that clomid works cause iui is expensive.

Insurance companies suck butt, don't they?! I'm worried that my insurance won't want to cover anything for me since I've already done clomid. Really hoping I can at least go ahead with my testing. I hope something works out so that you can get your first IUI done sooner.

Thanks. Me too. And insurance companies really do suck. DH pays a lot for our insurance and they can't cover the one thing we really need. It sucks. Everything else is covered and its awesome insurance except no infertility benefits.

I can understand the pain of feeling you are failing your daughter. My son has always been very vocal about wanting siblings too.

I know it's late but I know how you feel. My girls have been begging for a little sister! (Even though me and df are praying for a boy) I didn't want my kids to be too far apart like me and my sisters but it looks like that's what's gonna happen. I've yet to talk to my ob or anyone about fertility treatments and after reading this I hope our insurance will cover it.

So sorry to hear you're in a similar boat Maybe :( I don't wish for anyone to be here with me. Have you checked to see if you live in one of the lucky states that mandate infertility coverage?

hey girls! we too have been trying for a long time! DS has been praying for a sibling forever. it makes me so sad. I wish we could give him a sibling we're doing IVF for the first time next month. i'm very scared d/t the cost. our insurance doesn't cover any infertility treatments, so all will be out of pocket. we're doing the ARC funding to help pay for it with the refund option...I think having the refund option takes a little bit of the stress out of it. good luck to you girls!
