Reasons?

Postby Yellow578 » Wed Nov 18, 2015 4:27 pm

Hi all - I was originally on this site 2 years ago when trying to conceive our first baby. I was diagnosed with Diminished Ovarian Reserve and went through two cycles of fertility treatments. We have a cute little boy that's about to enter the terrible toddler stage. :) We have been trying to have our second and I have just started on my first cycle of treatment.

This time I'm only taking Menopur, progesterone and then the trigger in a few days. I'm obviously a year older but I'm hoping we will be able to have another healthy child.

Were all of you able to get pregnant for your first naturally and are are now having fertility issues? What regimen are you on and any advice??

Nice to meet you all!

Unfortunately a year later still nothing. And we've moved on to IVF (100% out of pocket too :(). What about you ladies?

If you pay out of pocket, I would recommend considering IVF clinics in Europe. I have been happy with my clinic, treatment and service I got.

Oh, lovelies, I'm so sorry to hear you're facing this roller coaster. As a natural optimist I thought IVF would be relatively straight forward. It was an opinion that didn’t last long though.. One unsuccessful IVF cycle was enough to crush the idealist in me. I was naïve and uninformed in equal measure.. I had multiple false starts. I also had many cancelled cycles. Lazy, underperforming ovaries meant that egg pick up didn’t necessarily equal eggs when it came to my rodeo show..
I remember waking up from the anaesthetic. I desperately hoped that the nurse would tell me that I got some perfect egg.. In the early stages of IVF (Probably my first year of treatments) I was always very hopeful for more than one egg!! (Four perfect ones was my record) but after having a couple cycles failed (I was not getting any eggs at pick up) I soon appreciated the value in the statement 'It only takes one.' I also learnt not to compare myself to someone else. Like someone in the next bed waking up to hear they got 9 or 14 eggs!! I'm 40 yrs oldie. Time ago diagnosed on endo & pcos. Our first doc advised lapos. So i did but frankly, with no actual result. Together with dh we ttc for 2 yrs with no luck. So decided to have a fertility app and soon found out my eggs were useless. Dh was ok. Lazy, underperforming ovaries meant that egg pick up didn’t necessarily equal eggs when it came to my rodeo show...I also had my lef ovary removed with lapo. Tried 2 fresh cycles with OE - both BFN. Afterall, having put my brave face on i began making investigations. It was clear we'd need donor egg to proceed with ivf treatments. Both confused but desperate for a baby. So soon found ourselves in ukrainian clinic. (Mainly for affordable ivf costs) and got luck from the very first shot with donor eggs. (the clinic guarantees at least 3 A grade 5 day blasts for the ET). I'm a couple of weeks before seeing my son :hb: All you lovelies here, I'm keeping you in my thoughts. May this year bring you your miracles.
