Trying for 9 months

Postby Hozza » Fri Aug 12, 2016 11:55 pm

Hi, I just wanted to see if anyone had any tips for ttc second child. I fell pregnant with my now 3 year old son in the first month of trying. I am now 33 and me and my husband have been trying for our second for 9 months now. I have tried preseed, using ovulation sticks, trying throughout the whole month but nothing is getting us pregnant. We are desperate for another child and we really want to give my son a sibling. Has anyone got any advice? Thank you

Hello Hozza,

I can't be of any help, but I can say that I'm with you. It's been nine months for us as well, and we have a little boy. We use OPKS and preseed and the Sperm Meets Egg Plan (along with Fertilaid for both of us, baby aspirin on the DPOs and this month even temping). It took us three months to concieve our son. I'm almost 31. It makes me sad.

My advice would be to see a Reproductive Endocrinologist sooner rather than later. I was 33 when we started trying and after a year had not gotten pregnant with #2. After just 6 months we were pregnant with our rainbow baby!

I would say you should stay positive, relax and enjoy yr ttc-ing. It is usually recommended seeing a doc when a woman can't get pregnant during 12 months of regular intercourse.
Me 31, DH 40. TTC 5 years. Unexplained infertility.
December 2015- IVF #1 BFN
May/June 2016- new doctor, IVF consultation in Gdansk Poland

IMO, 12 months is too long to wait. If you and DH are both healthy and have been trying for more than 6 months (using OPKs and tracking your cycle accurately), I would definitely see an RE especially because you conceived right away in the past. When I tried for my DD, we also got pregnant the first month, that ended in chemical and we tried again straight after and were pregnant with DD right away. I am now going on 2 years TTC #2... I desperately want my daughter to have a sibling and like whoz, it makes me sad as well. Trust me, you will never regret getting an expert opinion!

Good luck!
Me (Dev) - 31, DH - 33
DD born March 3, 2013 (conceived after just 2 cycles, first cycle was a chemical pregnancy)

April-August 2016 - 5 50mg-75mg Clomid cycles + Ovidrel - all BFN
Sept 2016 - Jan 2017 - TTC naturally
April 2017 - 3rd round of 100 mg Clomid + 250mg Ovidrel + 400mg Prometrium daily after O - :bfp:

Scam alert! All readers beware that Ukraine is not a safe country at the moment. Some parts of the country are torn with war and conflicts. No one in their right state of mind should travel to Ukraine for fertility treatments.

Hosea hi! So sad with you. but don’t you worry dear. I am not an experienced lady. But I want to advice you that you should wait for at least half year more. I think its very short gap from your first child. I don’t think your age is too late to be depresses from fertility. You should not be panic and carry on your struggle.

Hey! I am sorry that you are having a hard time. TTC requires a lot of patience. 9 months isn't that long. I have been infertile for 8 years. I am lucky I was blessed with a son when I was 28. I had no options but to go for surrogacy this time. IVF already did not work for me when I tried it a few years ago. I hope my baby is delivered safely in October.

I am so sorry about your infertility. I really hope you are doing well. I am so sorry that you are TTC for 9 months and still not successful. I guess it's about time you see a doctor. I remember the time when It had been 9 months for me of TTC. I was so scared but still hopeful. The 9 months turned into 8 years in no time. However, all the waiting did come to an end. My husband and I are having a child. She is due in October. She is being carried by a surrogate. All the good things do happen actually. This whole 9 years had bad experiences too. I suggest you to stay away from Lotus clinic. My experience was really bad there.

Hello, hope you are fine. Sorry to hear about this. It seems like you are going through secondary infertility now. No need to worry though. I know you are very confused right now but that is not needed. You just need to see your doctor so he can find out what the problem is. You can get the treatments accordingly.

You have been trying from last 9 months. I was trying from past 10 years. You can have an idea how much I would have suffered from past 10 years. You should go for fertility checkup or you should be also wasting your time while TTC again and again. I am now going for surrogacy to have a baby. Surrogacy is a very popular technique to have a baby if you are infertile. It is banned in my country so I am flying to another state for it soon. My best wishes are with you.

I can understand that this can be frustrating. Especially when the first one is easy to conceive. It could be secondary infertility. However, I won't say anything as I myself am not a professional. I would suggest that you visit the clinic and an RE for help. The doctor I visited for the first time didnt check us up until we had tried for 1 year. Also, improve your diet. Change your health routine. This has a positive impact as well. Start intaking important nutrients. Do exercise and yoga! Both these things really help. Lastly, a good doctor will help a lot. Good luck to you. Sending baby dust your way.

It can be so frustrating! I can definitely understand your situation. Secondary infertility is common because women stop taking care of themselves. You should improve your diet. Or, how about opting for something new, like IVF? Assisted conception has really caught on. Good luck to you, either way!
