BFP at Age 40

Postby Freesia71 » Sat Mar 24, 2012 8:55 am

So...when you least expect it...

We actually did not try to conceive last month due to hectic work schedules, travel, just too much going on...

Had my last period on the 22nd of Feb and was so frustrated, I was glad to take a month "off". This past Wednesday, my co-worker comes up to me commenting on my frequent runs to the bathroom and the exhausted appearance I am supposedly sporting. Back in my office, I look at the calendar...and low and behold...I am four days late and didn't even notice it!!!

I took a home pregnancy test that evening, as soon as I got home. Positive. Me being me though...surely this can't be correct. We have been trying for over a year...so...I go and buy two more tests. Both positive immediately.

What I'm trying to say is this: if it really just doesn't want to happen, give it a rest and be amazed at what your body does when it's not closely monitored and "supervised".

Got Doctor's appointment on Monday morning...I just hope all is well from here on out.

Good Luck and Positive Tests to all of you!!! What a wonderful, wonderful feeling.

Congratulations - that's wonderful! I wish you a happy and healthy 9 months!

I got my BFP (at 42!) just a few weeks ago so I am praying that everything will go well. So far we are doing fine -- heartbeat was right where they wanted it but I will worry a lot less once I get 4-6 months along.

Best wishes and Baby Dust to all!
