Trying to Conceive Forum

Hi

I have been here before, but I just had my 3rd princess 5 months ago... Now... we would LOVE another, but ti takes us awhile to concieve.

I have told DH that we will NOT have another baby until I get down to 140lbs. So, I guess we are not TTC, but this seemed like a good place to lurk since I have the TTC bug and love stalking everyone!

My Stats:
Name: Randi
DH: Greg
Kids: 3 girls, Nevaeh (6), Ryenn (2), and Jordynn (5 months)
Weight before any kids: 150
Weight now: 220!!!! :oops:

BC: Paragaurd IUD / Breastfeeding (No AF)

Hmm... I think that is all I have for now unless you have more questions for me... :-)

I want to have another kid one day but I really really need to lose weight first.

DH: Marc (32)
Kids: 2 Fur Babies - Ben and Maggie
Weight: Currently 275 - have lost around 30 lbs.
BC: None

I am trying to lose weight and also ttc #1. After numerous doctors who have told me lose weight and my period would regular - (I lost 100 lbs at one point and had even longer cycles) I simply figured I would never be able to conceive.

Thankful for a new PA who put me on Metformin (I am not diabetic nor do I have PCOS) and suddenly my cycles were 40 days and then 38 and now 34-35.... thinking it might be a possibility.

I would like to lose weight but time is running out as well so we are trying both at the same time!

Weight: Currently, 182 Before getting pregnant I was 195 and I got up to 236 when I went in to have her. I currently have a trainer. I am military so I have to get into shape and loose this weight.
BC: None, Not trying not preventing right now...ha

I hope it is not too late for me to jump in!! I have been TTC since 2002! I have had 3 m/c's and been to tons and tons of doctors!! DH and I both are trying to lose weight and not really happening that great but a lil at a time! lol

Hiya everyone!

Our stats

Name: Tina (30)
DW: Parker (32) (She's ttc this time, I'm next!)
Kids: 11 y/o ds Draven and 5 fur-babies (Badger, Betty Boop, Biscuit, Bones and Bubble Gum)
Weight: Hers: 286, Mine: 305

This is our first month ttc with a known donor using at home insemination. We're currently in the dreaded 2ww (5dpo). Her cycles are super regular so we don't think weight will be an issue with conceiving, however we're hoping for a homebirth and we are meeting with a midwife tonight to find out how much weight would have to be lost to make that a possibility.

Our donor kind of appeared out of nowhere and everything felt right so within the last month we've quit smoking, started eating better and started walking every night. No weight loss yet, but with quitting smoking that's understandable.

Nice to find this group, it's scary ttc when overweight not knowing how much the weight will affect the chances of conceiving.

By the way, typically Parker's right here when I'm typing, but I'm normally the one at the keys.

Hello everyone! Glad to see some more posting here.

I want to encourage everyone who is trying to lose weight. I was so happy to go to the doctor this week and see I am 18 lbs down but gosh it's hard sometimes. My DH is recently diagnosed diabetic so getting rid of a lot of the carbs has helped us both. I plan to keep doing this and really get serious about walking everyday especially now that the weather is nice.

Metformin has worked wonders with making my cycle shorter - Down to around 32-33 days now. And I think it has actually shortened AF from about 4-5 days to 2-3 days.

Tina and Parker - I am excited to hear someone else doing at home AI. We are doing the same - DH is the donor but he has problems with delayed ejaculation (sorry if tmi) so we are doing AI. Last month was our first month of trying with me actually charting and doing AI - we just tried naturally before. FX for you guys - hope this is your cycle!

I am thinking about trying PreSeed this cycle. I feel so hopeful now that I am ovulating regularly - hope it works!

Christina - I know what you mean about being military so having to lose the weight. I am military too, so I am in the same boat. GL! I dont have a trainer though, those are SO expensive here!

Tina - Hello! That's awesome that you found a donor and are doing home insemination. Are you going to look into IVF if it doesnt work?

Jessica - Never too late to jump in! A little at a time is all you can ask for!

Eliza - Forgive me, and you dont have to answer, but what is delayed ejaculation, and why is it needed for AI?

AFM - I weigned myself 3 nights ago, and I was still 220... I weighed myself when I woke up tonight, and I was 218.4 Yay for the little things! LoL!
I have a PT Test coming up, so I have to try to lose as much as I can in the next couple weeks. I am cleared for a 1 mile walk due to my C-Section 6 months ago, but really? Walking 1 mile in less than 13 minutes while trying to keep your heartrate down!? Oh jeez!

And I need to lose 2 inches off my waist... Suggestions?

LoveVaeh - We probably won't look into IVF for a few reasons. For one it's so darn expensive! For two, our donor (and his wife) don't really want to deal with fertility clinics of any sort due to personal beliefs (which I fully respect). So if we went with a clinic for IVF we'd most likely have to use unknown donor sperm and we like the idea of using a known donor.

If she's unable to get pregnant this way we may switch to my trying for awhile or we may just opt not to have more kids. However, she's just as likely to get pregnant this way as through regular intercourse so we're not worried . . . yet.

Randi I did my test yesterday. Im only guard but my run was 16.55 and that wasn't good enough. I need to get my waist down a little more but my sit-ups and push-ups are fine. My trainer kinda voulenteered herself to help me. I think I am kinda her project...lol It is kinda hard to "walk" a mile in 13min and keep your HR down. How crazy.

Tina that sounds great. I really hope she gets pregnant and everything works out great. Thats awesome you found such a great donor. You will have to keep us posted and GL sweetie.
