OPK help! *Updated question*

Postby x0__NiNi » Thu Feb 16, 2012 5:11 pm

Hi ladies. This is my first month using opks and was just looking for some input. Typically I have 33-35 day cycles so I'd expect ovulation around cd21, although I've never temped or use opks to confirm this. I'm cd14 today but todays opk looks pretty positive to me..! Isn't cd14 a little early though for a 35 day cycle? I've read somewhere that Answer brand is very sensitive ? so maybe that's the cause? I know I need to continue testing (will test 2x a day now) but just wanted to see what you ladies thought. Tia!!

OK ladies--
So cd15 around 11am I got a very strong + opk..Took another one around 5pm and it was still positive (like on cd14) Now every since that day I'm still getting + opks :? ..Not as strong as cd15, but the lines are still equally dark. Plus my temps are everywhere! Whats going on? Any advice? I feel like I'm doing something completely wrong!!

OPKs are supposed to be positive before you ovulate, though some women get positives the same day as ovulation. Let's suppose you're not one of them. Say you ovulate on cd16 instead, and your LP is longer than average: 15 or 16 days. That would mean your cycle would be 31 or 32 days, which isn't that far off from your usual 33-35.

Are you temping too? That can pinpoint your ovulation after it happens. Are you going to keep testing with OPKs to find out when your surge ends? They might get even more positive than that last one.

Congrats! And get busy BDing! :jump:

Wow that looks positive to me! Are you charting as well?

Just something to keep in mind is that your cycle length before O can change depending on lots of factors, but it is your cycle length after O that is consistent. So maybe you will have a shorter cycle this month or you have a long LP.

Either way girl :bd: :bd: :bd:

It looks like you're going to ovulate any day now (maybe today!), and you just have a longer LH surge than most people. That's lucky because next month (if you need another cycle ttc), you won't have to worry about testing multiple times a day. You won't be likely to miss your surge!

The best thing you can do is relax! The more you stress about it, the harder it is for your body to ovulate. Don't worry about doing anything. There's nothing you're doing wrong!

FX for a temp shift in the morning! :D

I agree with Zanna, it certainly looks like you are or are about to ovulate. I would love to have a longer LH surge as I sometimes struggle to catch mine at work and your sticks are beautiful and dark. Good luck!

I had 3-4 days of + opks in a row, just keep :bd:  daily, you cannot do wrong  I am sure in 3-4 days you will know for sure when you ovulated

My cycles have always been 28 days and I always ovulated O on CD 13-14 BUT last month i had a 31 day cycle, after 20 years of regular cycles, so it can happen, it can change anytime, just relax and enjoy the babymaking process, you are lucky to have such a nice second lines on opks and :fingers crossed: :babyg:

I would if I were you, but after the temp rise it is not necessary, let me know the result, I am sure it will be lighter, make sure your pee is not diluted :D

If we both end up :pregnant: we will have a very close due date :praying:
