lol, you don't sound stupid at all!

I know nothing about boosters, I've never done them so sara is gonna have to help you out there!

I lurked around these boards for about a year before I joined. I was so lost for the first couple of months, it was like these people were talking another language!

I know I am only two days DPIUI but my DH asked me if when the time comes do I want to do a HPT or just wait for the Beta.... I go back and forth... What does everybody thing? And when would be the best day to do the HPT if I do decide. I'm supposed to go back for the Beta on the 22nd.

That is completely up to you and your husband.

There is no way I could wait, it would be impossible. I use cheapy tests and test out the trigger shot from 1 dpo until I know it's gone. I continue testing and hope to see that line get darker again. I am 6dpiui today and the trigger is just about gone so I'm hoping to see a faint line early next week and watch it get darker so that when I get to my real test date on 8/20 I already know! But I have absolutely no patience. I really wish they could just hand me a card when I walked out from getting my IUI that says it worked or it didn't.

I tested my trigger out starting on 6 DPT. I was reading that you start seeing negatives at about 10 days past trigger. Well Im glad I tested it out becuase it was still positive 14 days past!!! I would have been so dissapointed if i didnt test it out and saw that positve 12DPO!

They are only positive in the evening now...totally playing mind games with me :( My beta is Monday and I cant wait to get it over with.

Good luck!

MrsSkillyTTC wrote:Okay, yea, I knew about the doctor's blood test - I just didn't know how it became "beta" ... but yes, I do understand what they are looking for when they do a blood test.

Isn't 5 - 7 days past your IUI too late to get pregnant? I don't understand how the booster can help cause implantation? Or does it basically make you ovulate again?

Sorry to keep bothering you guys. I swear I am not as stupid as I sound.

The booster doesn't trigger ovulation since there's nothing there to ovulate :) Basically is heightens the HCG in your body... your body thinks you are pregnant in the sense that it churns out more progesterone. Progesterone helps implantation and helps in sustaining the pregnancy should implantation be successful. So basically it makes your body think... oh, lots of baby hormones going on... make more progesterone so the baby will stick. :)

I had the boosters but it wasn't really enough so I had to do the boosters AND progesterone suppositories because I had really low progesterone even with the booster.

Hi everyone!

My first IUI is on Wednesday...I have PCOS and am currently on 150mg of Clomid. Looking forward to this month, but so nervous to allow myself to be excited about this whole thing. I'm not sure what the odds truly are of the IUI working, and not sure if there is anything I can do after the procedure to try and help things along, or avoid doing so I don't cause problems?

Any advice would be appreciated! :)

Sadiegirl - Sounds good, lets obsess! lol

I had my first IUI today, it went well and I got a positive OPK this morning so that boosted my mood a bit too. I was also given a trigger shot to help move things along and took 150mg Clomid this month

I'm going back on Friday for another IUI at my doctor's request, really hoping doing this twice really helps too!

It will be disappointing not only emotionally but financially if this doesn't work out...these things aren't cheap as I'm sure you can all relate to!

Hi ladies! How's everyone doing? I know we have a few just starting the 2WW and a few getting close to test date.

My test date is Monday, but I'm a big cheater and tested early. I started getting believable positives on Tuesday and am now just waiting for my betas next week. I feel really good about this one, even after 2 losses in back to back cycles. I just feel this is finally it!

Can't wait to catch up on all of you!!

Hi guys!

Can I join you for IUI #2? I'm on CD7 - tonight will be my 5th night of gonal-f...I had blood work and U/S today and there were five giant follicles, but my E2 was only 75, so....are they cysts? I'm guessing yes :-(

I have to keep going with the 75 of gonal-f and recheck in two days...craziness...i've gotten my other two BFPs in september, so I hope that this iui is going to do it!

Good luck to everyone

Sorry I have been really MIA ladies. The chemical kind of did a number on me and I just had to focus on some other things for a few days. Been really busy with other things also. Anyway, I had my midcycle US yesterday. i had a follie on my right at 27 and follie on my left at 22.8. He said my lining was 8.5 and had a great pattern (whatever that means). I triggered last night at 9:30 and we're doing IUI today at 1 and tomorrow at 9. I asked to do the first IUI later than 12 hours past as I don't ovulate that early and wanted more chance for the sperm to live. I am contemplating asking to take progesterone just in case that was the problem last cycle. So with the trigger my box said 250 per .5 ml and it is a 1ml shot. So I am not even sure how much I am taking. HE told me anything after 10days is not trigger but I don't trust it. I am contemplating testing out the trigger with frer. I prefer something I don't have to use a cup with as sometimes I need to test at work or in a hurry. So what do you ladies think about using the progesterone? HE said it could delay my period...well hell I don't want my period!!! LOL.

Congrats Erin...hope this sticks for you. Welcome to all the new ladies too.

Well looks like this wasn't the one for me. Beta was 18 this morning and I'm bleeding and cramping so this one isn't sticking around. Trying to stay positive that we're getting closer to our take home baby. At least I'm getting pregnant, for 2 1/2 years I never saw 2 lines!

Thinking about taking a break from all the meds and IUI and just trying on our own for a few months. We'll see how I feel when the time comes to start a new cycle.

Good luck to you all....I may disappear for a little bit but I'll be keeping an eye on you all and wish you all the best!

erin - I'm sorry :( my beta with my chemical was 24... really rough to see those lines and then start bleeding. please KUP on your progress.

natalie - I would ask for the progesterone. I truly 100% believe it helped me sustain my pregnancies with DD and this pregnancy. When I got pg OFF the progesterone, I had a chemical. And yes it can delay your period, but once you reach testing/beta date, if negative, you stop taking the progesterone and AF will start up a day or two later. No biggie and at least you were covering your bases there.
