Ovulating, or not says the specialist

Postby Debbkinz » Fri Aug 31, 2018 12:38 am

Hi ladies!, so I seen my specialist after struggling for nearly 4yrs ttc, hubby had SA done, all fine!... so it was me!.. they did my bloods for hormones and my ovulation times etc, and then did a hsg!, which eventually I clocked my left tube!, so what was wrong?. Seen my specialist yesterday and he told me I’m not ovulating properly? or not at all?. So he’s offered me CLOMID!?? now I’ve heard that it makes the chance of cervical cancer 3x more likely and that’s what put me off, but I’ve googled and there’s no hard evidence to prove this!?.. although you do get awful side affects!? Please ladies can you all let me know what your journey was like on clomid? Did u conceive? Did you have multiples?
I need to talk to my hubby about it all xx thanks in advance ladies x

If you are worried about clomid, you can look into letrozole. It has fewer side effects and risks, including the risk of multiples. If you are experiencing weak ovulation, this means your follicles are not developing properly. They pop out an immature egg, leaving behind a crappy corpus luteum that doesn't produce enough progesterone. So even if your immature egg somehow gets fertilized and makes it to the uterus, the progesterone hasn't been doing its job of preparing the lining for implantation and won't be there to support the pregnancy. This can result in either no bfp or an early mc. Drugs like clomid and letrozole work to better develop your follicles so you are getting mature eggs and healthy progesterone levels to aid implantation and sustain a pregnancy.

There are quite a few side effects. However, you should discuss in detail with your specialist. They know better, I would suggest taking their advice. I doubt the cancer accusations are true. I hope it helps you ovulate, and things work out! Sending lots of love and baby dust. It can be a little uncomfortable, but nothing you can't deal with, though.

I have never heard this before. Even I took clomid! In fact, I took it for 6 months. Although it didn't help us in the TTC journey, it also wasn't that harmful. Therefore, I would suggest maybe you should visit a good doctor who advises you in the right manner. Don't worry about this. Good luck to you. I hope things go well.
