SARAEK!!! WOOOOHOOOOOO!!!! I'm over the moon for you lady!
Hi guys!
Headed to the airport in an hour for a quick work trip, but wanted to give you all the information I could on what I did this cycle because there was a lot different from the previous 10 cycles.
March 3, u/s = follies 24, 17, 14, 13; Ovidrel trigger, definitely start cramping that evening
IUI day: Great sperm count and progressive motility, went in for acupunture a few hours after procedure. This is our second round of IUI, 11th month trying to conceive.
1 dpiui: BD
2 dpiui: BD
3-4 dpiui: nothing
5 dpiui: acupuncture
6-9 dpiui: nothing
10 dpiui: really faint BFP on IC? Half hour meditation (the spa downstairs had a free session, I've never really meditated before)
11 dpiui: acupuncture, faint BFP on IC continues, I'm still in doubt but acupuncturist is very excited...her happiness boosted mine
12 dpiui: okay, that's definitely a line on the IC, but it's late at night
13 dpiui: seems like the IC line is fainter? It's Saturday, it's the middle of the day, and I can't take it any longer. I pull out a digital and it says "Pregnant!" I say, "Holy sh*t!" Husband is thrilled. He goes on an IC and confirms that he is not pregnant. Too bad, maybe next time
14 dpiui: Welcome to my roller coaster this morning. IC and FRER positive this morning, digital negative. My whole morning is a funk. We meet some friends, I'm still funky. Pick up another digital (whoah mama, those babies are expensive) and I test about an hour ago. It sas "Pregnant." I am much relieved, and now you are caught up.
What I did different this cycle:
Acupuncture. I've never tried it before, and really didn't know what to expect. It was really relaxing, and I have to say, I think it really did improve my lining. My lining last cycle, without acupunture, was 8.6. This go around, it was 10. I didn't change anything else. It was also very, very relaxing. So I was guaranteed an hour a week where my mind was peaceful. I had called my doctor beforehand and asked what he thought about me trying acupuncture. He said, "Well, there's no medical evidence to suggest anything, but I am all for anything that will help you relax." That's all I needed to hear

I had acupuncture before the IUI, the day of the IUI, and once a week since. My insurance doesn't cover it, but yours might. It's pricey, but it was cheaper than an IVF for sure. I'll probably go once every other week through the first trimester.
Fresh pineapple. I've seen this all over the boards, but I'm not a big fruit person (don't worry moms, I love my veg). But, my acupuncturist said to take a pineapple, cut it into fifths, and eat one-fifth everyday following my IUI.
I added Omega3s and CoQ10 to my daily vitamins. The acupuncturist recommended these daily packs, but it was so expensive. So I memorized the dosages and just did it myself at the grocery store. MUCH cheaper
Every day I take:
1 Whole Foods prenatal
1000 mg Flaxseed Oil, twice daily
100 mg CoQ10, once daily
850 mg Omega 3s (it's some mix, but there was DHA in it and that's what the acupuncturist recommended)
I do that fertility yoga 2-3 times a week.
In hindsight, this all sounds very new age-y, and I'm really not that kind of gal. But I think it did do something to lift my spirits, as the previous cycles, I was pretty down about things. The last IUI I remember thinking, "Well, that's not going to work." This time, I was pretty optimistic.
Hope that helps, I'd love to stay with you guys and see your BFPs, as this group really made a difference in my outlook. So don't count me out yet.
