Endo Scratch?

Postby littlemissblue » Fri Apr 05, 2013 1:03 pm

Hi all,

Wondering if anyone has had the endometrial scratch before your IVF cycles?

I have just opted into a trial at my clinic, on day 21 when i start DR I have to go and will either be given the scratch or just a scan - 50/50 chance of getting the scratch, really hoping I will have it as it's supposed to be really helpful in getting a successful pregnancy!

Does it hurt? Bit scared but it'll be worth it if it helps!

Hey! My fet transfer is Thursday. I had my scratch biopsy about 5 weeks ago. It's pressure but doesn't kill like the hsg did. It's supposed to up your implantation percentage that's why I did it! Best of luck!

I have to say that I did the scratch a few weeks ago and holy hell that was the most painful thing ever. If in the future I go through IVF or a frozen in the future, I can't say I would do it again.

I almost threw up and my body started to go into shock. I've had the HSG and thought that was painful, but nothing like this.

Although, if it works...then I'd say it was worth it!

Good luck!

I just did it before my 3rd (and successful) IVF and I really believe it helped. It did hurt. A lot. Not the worst pain ever but I also took a valium beforehand so that probably helped. The good part is it's a pretty quick procedure so the pain doesn't last long. I had some bleeding after but it only hurt during the procedure.
good luck! Hope you get picked to have it.

hi! i just found out that my hysteroscopy this friday is also doubling as an endo scratch. so, hopefully it helps! i've often wondered if our main issue in conceiving is implantation. luckily, i will be under anesthesia for my procedure.

best of luck to you!

My clinic in London recently wrote a blog post about the use of endometrial scratching to improve pregnancy rates in women with implantation failure. If your planning to go through the procedure it is a pretty interesting read.

http://www.ivfcliniclondon.com/blog/201 ... cratching/
Me: All tests normal DH: Perfect SA
Together: Unexplained infertility
October 2010 to July 2012- TTC with no assistance, all cycles BFN
July 2012 - Monitored Clomid cycle. Good response but still BFN
August -September 2012- First IVF cycle, finally a BFP. Identical twin girls
December 2012 - Lost the twins at 16 weeks and 5 days
March-April 2013 - First FET, BFN
May-June 2013 - Second IVF cycle - BFP but, sadly, a blighted ovum. D&C 8w3d
October-November 2013 - Third IVF cycle - BFP

Littlemissblue - how are you?

I just got my period after the endo scratch, and (sorry if tmi) my period seemed different than before. Less clots, more viscous flow. Hoping I got the endo scratch done at the right time as I've read that timing is key. But I'm really hoping it helps!

Stims start Sunday, est ER 6/21!
