Early Pregnancy Symptoms and Big Fat Positives

12DPO BFP! The crazy things ive done this TTC cycle

Hi Lovely ladies, I have been endlessly searching through forums such as this one since my DH and i decided to TTC in Feb, foolishly we thought it wouldnt take us long to get pregnant (people who say oh you will catch so quick when you come off the pill LIE!! haha) so every cycle i try and add a few new crazy things ive read from other peoples BFP stories, which is why i felt i should post mine.. whether these things worked or this month was just our month i dont know but it certainly didnt hurt! So from my period ending to Ovulation i drank 2 glasses of watered down POM (100% Pomegrante juice) i had read that this thickens the lining making it more inviting for a egg, i also read a bit about acupuncture and about having a warm womb... so from period to ovulation i would put a lavender wheat bag that had been heated up in the microwave on my stomach for at least half an hour once a day, i also wore socks all the time as with the acupuncture they say warm feet warm womb :) I used clear blue ovulation sticks which this month did not work! i got to CD17 and still no smiley face so after running out of the CB sticks and coming to terms with possibly not ovulating this month i thought would buy some ovulation sticks of Amazon 30 + 10 PG tests for £6, i used a ov strip on CD18 and had a dark test line although not as strong as the control line so i continued to use them and noticed the line get later, suggesting i had already ovulated and CB missed it!! Thankfully we had BD every other day from the end of my period and also occasionally used Conceive plus. Because of the ovulation confusion, i also had a temp drop and then spike CD12/CD13 so i really had no clue but took the ov strips info as i had ovulated around CD17, this cycle i was also really keen to try the pineapple core theory however its supposed to be from 1-5DPO and at this point i was possibly 4DPO, but through some googling had seen it was ok up to day 7 so i had the pineapple from 4-7DPO. i had a busy weekend so didnt pay attention to much and with FF saying i had OV CD19 i just tried to not stress then - 7DPO (classing CD17 as ov) i noticed my left breast had increased in size as had the nipple, it was a tad sore but nothing much 8DPO i got a few spots on my chin which i dont normally get 10DPO after BD when i wiped i noticed alot of pink tinged CM which i assumed was the start of AF, later that day i got a raging headache which i never get but again put it down to the heat in the UK at the mo which i also blamed on a few nights of awful sleep 11DPO i thought i would just try one of these tests, i had read headaches, spots, pink after BD, swollen breasts could all be signs.... i thought i could see the faintest ever barely a line but thought it was me wishing too hard so i threw it away.... that day after a BM there was bright red blood and i thought definitely AF but then nothing... so the next day i took another test and the line was darker!! so im now 14DPO and had my 3rd day of clear positives! So im planning to tell DH tonight now i know its not a fluke! Anyway i hope this helps 1 person as these forums helped me, gave me hope and now i get my own story to share :)

Not everyone has a planned pregnancy or is immediately happy with the news of their pregnancy. Don't panic. Sometimes, even if you were planning your pregnancy, it's normal to find yourself second-guessing your plans. Take some time to let the news sink in while considering what to do. While you shouldn't have alcoholic beverages during pregnancy, that doesn't mean you should stop having fun. A great glass of sparkling cider is a great way to liven up the night and to toast your new bundle of joy. Some women plan a romantic dinner to surprise their partners with the news of the pregnancy, others have bigger parties. How and when you celebrate may depend on many factors. Either way, remember that having fun is a perfectly acceptable part of pregnancy. By having fun, you're releasing stress and relaxing, which is good for you and the baby.
