Early Pregnancy Symptoms and Big Fat Positives
2 Week Wait Symptoms
I am very happy to share with you my two week wait symptoms. I am a very faithful stalker of this site and it helped me through all of our unsuccessful months! I got my BFP on March 30th and DH and I are so excited. I am 28, DH is 27. I went off of birth control in August of 2011, however our TTC efforts were put on hold when my husband was sent for a short deployment. He returned in late November and we were able to start again. This month the biggest thing that changed was I began a regular exercise routine. I started going to the gym Monday through Friday and doing some cardio and weight training. I also started taking iron tablets. I had already been taking prenatal vitamins since I went off BC in August. So here are my symptoms:
1-5 DPO: Extremely gassy and bloated. I thought it might have been from the new carbonated water that I was drinking so I switched. But even when drinking regular water I was still just a ball of gas.
5-6 DPO: I woke up with blood in my nose. This is when I first started to suspect. I've never had a bloody nose before and I had heard that some women get them in early pregnancy. I didn't allow myself to get too excited at this point. On 6DPO I also had one quick episode of heartburn; I thought this was odd as well because I wasn't eating at the time.
7-8 DPO: Skin breaks out as usual right before AF arrives. I start telling myself that AF is coming and I should accept it. I also start having some mild cramps, which is normal for AF as well. Gas and bloated feeling starts again. 8 DPO I also wake up with a cold. My husband had been sick for a few days prior so I don’t know if that was related or not.
9 DPO: I am exhausted! I figure I did too much in the gym this week and take a day off. My temperature had dipped this morning as well, but I figure it was just going back to my pre-ovulation temperature. I did decide to go ahead and test with an OPK because I was too chicken to take a pregnancy test. Surprisingly it was positive. I start to get hope again but really don't want to get too excited.
10 DPO: Cramping continues but AF isn't due for 4 more days. I have a night out planned with my friends this weekend so I figure I should take a test just to make sure I'm not preggars so I can have a few drinks with a clear conscious. Take a test and continue getting ready for work. Come back about 20 minutes later to throw it away and see a faint line. It's faint, but it's obvious that it's there. I start to wonder, did I leave it out too long and end up with an evap? DH is getting ready for work too, but I don't tell him because if it's a faulty test, I don't want him to be disappointed. So I grab another test and stick it in my bag for work. A couple hours later I test again and another faint line. Hmmm, what are the odds of two faulty tests in one day?! Lucky for me, I work at a hospital and I ask one of the doctors to order a blood test for me. 1 hour later, I get a BFP!!!! I am beyond excited!! When I surprise DH that evening with the news he is ecstatic!! We’re both just so happy and praying for a healthy pregnancy. I am now 4 weeks and 1 day. The symptoms that I have now are occasional cramping, runny nose, fatigue and still gassy. I wish all of you ladies the best! I won’t tell you to relax, because that’s something I was never able to do myself ;-) But I will say to never give up hope!! Baby dust to all!!!!
