Early Pregnancy Symptoms and Big Fat Positives
My husband and I began trying for a baby shortly after returning from our honeymoon in September 2011. We got a bulls eye first month trying. We were in shock that it had happened so quickly and it took time to get used to the idea that we were going to be parents, I think a lot of this craziness was hormone related!!!
Sadly at the beginning of December, the week of our first scan, I began to bleed and was eventually told I had had a missed miscarriage. We were devastated. It took a long time to get over the situation as there were complications. The conception products (doctors words, not mine) had got stuck in my cervix and it was agony. After a trip to A and E we were left bereft and empty.
We began trying again pretty much straight away and I think it helped us maintain our relationship, but we had no luck for what felt like an eternity! I began scouring this website and many others for support, ideas and inspiration. Let's say we've tried a lot of different methods and six months later still nothing.
After the miscarriage we booked a holiday to Thailand for 2 weeks, my fertility friend app said I would ovulate the day we left, from charting and using OPK s I had worked out that I ovulated on the 16th day of my cycle, 2 days after this. So I was spending my 2ww in style!
On the day we left, I had cramping and was certain my period was on its way, I put a pad in my pants and checked regularly throughout the 12 hour plane journey. Nothing.
We got home and still nothing.
On Monday the 6th I was convinced my period was coming as I was due, I was cramping in exactly the same way. In my last pregnancy I had had no cramping what so ever, so I couldn't be pregnant. I had a test in the house and thought if I do it and it's negative maybe my period will show its face. Lo and behold as the wee touched the end of the stick a lovely little line came up and I could not believe it!
I bought 2 First responses and they were both BFP!
It's very early days but I feel totally different this time, relaxed and positive.
I was told so many times relax and it will happen, much to my annoyance at the time, but by god it worked for us. I didn't eat, drink or behave sensibly the whole time we were on holiday. I had an upset stomach (maybe a symptom, probably too much chilli) and it really worked for us.
Sorry for such a long one, but its like therapy to get it all out after so long.
In short, my symptoms have been cramping and very sore nips!
Let's hope this one hangs on in for a spring 2013 addition to our family!
