Early Pregnancy Symptoms and Big Fat Positives
BFP after 12 months - No Symptoms
I was 29 and had been trying 12 months already. I started out pretty relaxed, but at about 6 months, I started to get a little stressed. I started temping my BBT and charting symptoms, so I felt like I had a bit more control. Everything seemed pretty normal and regular...so we just kept trying and focusing on my fertile days. Nothing for 6 more months. By this point I was getting very stressed and depressed when my period showed up as usual.
Month 12 I was late. I was for sure late because my Luteal phase was never over 14 days, and it was quite clear it was 15 dpo and period didn't show up. I had all the symptoms: sore boobs, tired, hungry, a bit ill. I took a test and it was negative and my period showed up later that day. I am thinking it could have been a chemical, and the hormone was already out of my system by the time I took the test. I was so disappointed, I cried. Was it ever going to happen for us?
I was starting to think about seeking medical assistance since it had been 12 months. I told myself one more month, and if it didn't turn out, I would get the process started.
Nothing was unusal this time. We did the Deed the day before Mother's day and I was so depressed. I wasn't a mother still and my SIL was pregnant for the 3rd time in the middle of all this.
The TWW started and I had nothing to report. No sore boobs, no tiredness, nothing. Only thing that might have been strange was I pulled my lower ab muscle from turning out of bed. That had never happened, maybe I am getting old! My husband was leaving for work during the week, and I had one spare test from the month before. That Sunday morning (the day before expected period) I just decided to take it so my husband could console me when it was negative.
3 minutes and WHAT!? No way. It was positive with a faint line. I couldn't believe it. My heart was pounding and I brought the test to my husband. He was grumpy I was waking him up but I showed him the test and asked him what he saw. He saw 2 bars. That meant postive. We both hugged and went back to sleep.
I didn't believe it. Through the rest of the week I took 2 more tests in case of a chemical. I even went to the clinic to get a test and it was positive again. I don't think I believed it until my belly was growing and my baby was definitely kicking and moving around and I had 2 ultrasounds haha. (BTW that weird lower stomach pain continued into my pregnancy and my midwife told me it was round ligament pain. I didn't know you could get it that early, but I guess I did..so maybe I had ONE symptom...)
Okay, it's been a while since I had my BFP. My baby is 7.5 months now. But I did write everything down and always meant to post my story for others. After all, I was trying for a year before I got my BFP, and these stories always helped me pass the time during the TWW.
Good luck. Don't give up. Just keep getting through every month. Hopefully it will happen for you too. Sooner rather than later.
