Early Pregnancy Symptoms and Big Fat Positives

BFP on month #3!!

Once DH and I decided that we were ready to have a baby, it didn't take me long to realize that I am one of those extremely impatient women when it comes to TTC. When we didn't get pregnant in the first or second month, I was convinced there was something wrong with me and that it was never going to happen. So on the third month I brought out the big guns-- I charted my temps, I bought OPK's, we used pre-seed (2-3 grams inserted with the applicator at least 15 mins before sex), we had sex every day for 16 days straight (roughly 24 hours apart each time), and I laid flat on my back with a pillow under my hips for at least 20 minutes after each time. In addition to this, I didn't have a drip of alcohol or caffeine, and I ate a lot better the entire month. My husband also drastically cut back his alcohol and caffeine consumption to almost zero. I have no idea which (if any) of these things contributed to our BFP-- maybe it was a combination of a few!! But it worked!! If I had to guess i'd say that charting my temps was probably the most beneficial thing I did-- I found out I was ovulating WAY later than I thought! Almost a full week. I actually gave up taking the OPK's after CD 18 because I wasn't getting anything close to positive and figured they were faulty. Then when my temps finally went up after CD 22, I realized I had just ovulated late! I'm so thankful that we continued to have sex every night even though I was convinced that cycle was going to be anovulatory after all the negative OPK's. Symptoms by DPO 1-6 DPO: Nothing too out of the ordinary. Kinda sore boobs (my boobs normally get VERY sore right after I ovulate, right up until AF. I felt like this time they weren't nearly as sore. ) They hurt near my armpits as well as in the front. I was very mildly crampy (completely normal for me) CP high and firm, dry CM 7 DPO: My head felt like it was full of air. There was a pressure in my ears and behind my eyes. My throat kind of felt sore, but nothing overwhelming or painful. Overall I felt like I had a head cold coming on, but it wasn't enough to make me miserable or unable to do anything. CP High and not quite as firm, lotiony/Stretchy CM. 8 DPO: My "sickness" from the day before was completely gone. This is what made me think it may have been a pregnancy symptom. I also noticed that I had these two big hard lumps (exactly in the same spot on each) on the upper front of both breasts (towards my collarbone). I typically get this around the time my period is due--but never this early and never as big and hard as they felt. CP high and medium firmness, lotiony/stretchy CM. 9 DPO: When I checked my CP, I noticed that my vaginal walls felt SO smooth- Almost like velvet (sorry, TMI!!!) But it was so unusual that I noticed it immediately. My cervix also seemed soft but still closed and high. Very abnormal for me. 10 DPO: Took a test with a Wondfo dip strip with FMU-- Got a SUPER faint squinter within the 10 minute window. It was so faint that I wasn't 100% sure it was even there. But my wondfo dip strips in the past months had ALWAYS been completely stark white without even a shadow of anything. So the fact that I even questioned it made me think it might be real. So I waited and tested again that same night and got a clear, unmistakable faint line. 11-14 DPO: BFP's, gradually getting darker each day!!
