Early Pregnancy Symptoms and Big Fat Positives
BFP with Clomid first month! TTC 4months
I am still in shock but wanted to share my story to give someone somewhere some encouragement. About me, I'm 27 and my DH is 28 and 4 months ago we decided to start a family. I was diagnosed with thin PCOS soon after and was prescribed 50 mg of Clomid once my doctor realized I was not ovulating on my own. Fast forward to the November 30th, I got my period and started taking the pills on CD 3-7 with estrogen supplements on CD 8-12. My CD 10 follicle scans showed 2 mature eggs 17mm and 18mm on my right side (loaded with cysts) and a 13.5mm on my right side. I was overjoyed to see that the Clomid was working for me. FYI - I am an extreme pessimistic. I started temping for the first time because based on those number my nurse believed I was going to ovulate mid-cycle. I was skeptical because my I never gotten a positive OPK and my cycle average around 40 days. So on CD 14 I got a positive OPK and that week we BD 5 times. I saw my temp rise on CD 16 and believe I ovulated. During this week, I experienced severe ovulation pain unable to walk or move at times. My bowel movements were painful and having sex was almost unbearable. My nurse said this is common especially if you haven't ovulated in a long time plus it was my for month on Clomid. I thought she was crazy.
1-5DPO - I was still in pain. Walking was so hard I worked from home to stay under the heat pad. During this time my breast was hurting and I had CM. I thought it was still the aftermath of ovulating. CD 21 I got my progestrone pulled and it was 72! I was dumbfounded that I actually ovulated and possible with multiple follicles. My nurse said I was sure to get pregnant. I was again skeptical.
8DPO - the worse happened. I was rushed to the ER with serve cervical pains and cramping that parallelized me. I was confident that a cyst had erupted. Keep in mind this the day before Christmas Eve and on Christmas we were planning to travel to China for the holiday. The ran many test including a beta pregnancy test - which came back negative less than 3 - and everything looked find. I was incredible frustrated. At this moment I knew I didn't want to take Clomid right away or at least not at 50mg. The ER doctor said I have over stimulated ovaries and this pain should subside. I was pissed because it felt more than just "ovary pains." So 5 hours later we were driving back home.
9DPO - I cried 2 hours because the beta test was negative and I felt this entire process was worthless. My husband kept saying it was too early to tell but I had watched countless youtube videos with women getting faint lines on 8DPO - silly me thinking I was going to be like everyone else.
10DPO - Christmas morning, I took an online cheapie and I saw a faint line. I asked my DH what he saw and he said he saw a line as well. I was indifferent and chalked it up to a false positive. We board our 17hr plane to China and I am 1000% nausea, unable to eat, brown spotting, cramping, and extremely gassy. You can only imagine how comfortable this ride was. We travel frequently and I knew something was up but couldn't believe I was pregnant.
11DPO - After finally getting into our hotel room, I took another cheapie and bam the line was much darker. I then took a Clear Blue Digital and saw the words pregnant! I am 4 weeks now sitting in a hotel in China trying not to puke while enjoying our holiday. Will you believe me if i tell you I am still in disbelieve. Can't wait to get the final confirmation from my nurse!
Keep believing ladies because this too will be your story - but better!
