Early Pregnancy Symptoms and Big Fat Positives

BFP with home insemination

13 DPO today, and I just got a positive! Conception was a little unorthodox. My husband has trouble with the pressure of ejaculating during intercourse when we’re trying to conceive (it’s a thing). For 4 cycles we tried ‘manual relief’ and then inserting the sperm with a softcup. No dice. Doctor gave me a syringe to suck the sperm into, with a long pipette attachment to try instead. I could insert it so the end of the pipette was right against my cervix - it worked! This was the first month trying this method! We inseminated both the day before ovulation and the day of. Here are the symptoms I noted: 3&4 DPO - extreme fatigue! ‘Spacy’ feeling. Funny taste in mouth. 5 DPO - tired, light headache 6 DPO - tired, light headache. 7 DPO - increase in white CM. Very slight nausea after eating. 8 DPO - still lots of CM. Slight nausea after eating. 9&10 DPO - still lots of white CM. Also, noticed no new acne. Typically I can set a clock to some acne before my period. 11 DPO - a bit of cramping, still CM. 12 DPO - quite a lot of light cramping through the day. Usually I don’t have any cramping prior to my period - just after it’s started. I also usually get headaches in the days leading up to my period - this month, nada. 13 DPO - expected period! I let myself test, finally - very clear, standard positive!! Note: I never felt any breast tenderness/tingling!

Congratulations dear for the positive test. However, next time you can check on the following pregnancy symptoms. Implantation can also produce a feeling similar to menstrual cramps. In early pregnancy, you may feel this discomfort and think your period is just around the corner, but then it never comes. Sound familiar? Take a test. Hormone levels vary by woman and by pregnancy. As your pregnancy produces more and more estrogen and progesterone, these hormones start to make changes in your body to support the baby’s growth. Your breasts may feel tender and appear bigger due to increased blood flow. Your nipples might hurt and the veins might look darker under the skin. Because many women also experience breast discomfort in the days leading up to their period, this symptom isn’t always indicative of pregnancy. Along with cramps and sore breasts, early pregnancy can cause. Nausea. Food aversions. Exhaustion. Frequent urination. As the weeks go on, these symptoms may get stronger before your HCG levels even out late in the first trimester. You know yourself, so pay attention to your body. Any unusual physical symptoms could prompt you to take a pregnancy test.
