Early Pregnancy Symptoms and Big Fat Positives

Early spotting and BFP

My husband and I are trying for our second baby, and I had the mirena removed 5 months ago. With our first, we tried unsuccessfully for a year, and then got pregnant our first month on clomid.

I've been pretty convinced that I wouldn't see a bfp without the help of clomid, but the plan was to try for 6 months before taking it again. (I'm 35 now). This month we decided to skip trying, since i have a big trip coming up that I didn't want to be 6 weeks pregnant for (i had pretty bad morning sickness), so we weren't going to bd around ovulation.

cd6- bd
cd8- pos opk (early for me)- so realized we cut it close
5 dpo- bright red blood- only lasted a few hours
10 dpo- brown spotting & very moody
11 dpo - light brown spotting
12 dpo- light brown spotting, gassy
13 dpo- BFP

I'm very nervous. I didn't have any spotting during my first pregnancy. Also, my initial reaction to bleeding so close to ovulation was that it could it be an ectopic pregnancy. 5 DPO seems to be to close for implantion bleeding.

Has anyone had a similar experience?

I had bleeding start at 2DPO. BFP at 12DPO.  MC at 10 weeks. I had a blighten ovum.

I really hope that isn't the case for you, but since it was similar, I wanted to share.  I didn't even find out that was the case until 8 weeks.  I sure don't want to scare you...hopfully everything will be just fine!!! ((hugs))

Thank you for sharing. I went in for a blood test this week, and it was positive. However, last night (17 dpo) I bled again like AF was starting. It stopped within the hour, but I'm pretty sure a blood test will confirm a MC. Waiting for the doctor's office to call back now.
