Early Pregnancy Symptoms and Big Fat Positives

For me, this is nothing short of a miracle...

Well I’ll be damned. I’m practically speechless. I truly didn’t believe several aspects of our situation were true. But turns out, all of those stories I’ve heard are possible. We tried for over a year with our first, DS and ended up having to get fertility testing done. The conclusion the endocrinologist came to was “unexplained infertility”. We proceeded straight to IVF, considering IUI is not very affective at all with our diagnosis. We conceived DS our first attempt. Amazing. We were over the moon. I had an incredible pregnancy and my little guy is incredible. We are just so thrilled. BUT... we wanted more! So, we decided we were ready to start trying again. We decided to attempt on our own for two months, and proceed with IVF yet again, if we were unsuccessful. Well! lol and behold! Our very first month trying. You could have knocked me over with a feather when I saw that “yes+”. Let me give you the low down... firstly I want to say, that I NEVER THOUGHT ANYTHING WERE “SYMPTOMS”. I FELT NO DIFFERENT!!!!! At ALL!!!! Felt more symptoms on months that I wasn’t pregnant. CD 10, 11 and 12- EWCM, bd on CD 12 ONLY!!!! Didn’t even know if I was ovulating for sure. When in doubt, BD with all EWCM!!!! CD 13, 1dpo, 2dpo, 3dpo- O cramps (which iv never had before) 4dpo, 5dpo, 6dpo- constipated, but so was DH... something we ate?? Didn’t eat? 7dpo- smallish glob of white creamy/sticky cm. Didn’t recall ever having this (this was really the only sign that MAY have tipped me off a little) 8, 9dpo- tiny bit of ewcm when wiping. Tested BFN (I thought this was 9dpo but it was actually 8dpo when I tested) Today I saw someone having a grilled cheese and tomato and NEEDED one! But I never pulled the idea out of my head. I never considered this a “craving” with my first pregnancy, but in retrospect, these were my cravings. Only when I SAW someone eating something. 10dpo- tested fmu BFN. Thought for sure I was out. Headache (but didn’t sleep well and had a glass of wine) 11,12dpo- nothing 13dpo- tiny pinhead red dot when I checked my cervix (I always thought this was people exaggerating!) had cramping after this check from irritating it but it dissipated in a few minutes. Ovia app says to test. I’m too scared. So used to BFNs... 14dpo- small amount of buggery pink tinged cm. I get this EVERY time I’m about to get AF. Thought for sure I was out. 15dpo- nothing at all... hmmm... tested at 1pm with FRER digital, after peeing all day and BAAM! BFP!!!!!! Unreal. I was in utter shock! Waited like 5min for the damn thing to show up! But it was real!!! I always thought that any spotting at all the day before and the day AF was due (especially with no other symptoms to speak of) meant AF for sure. It’s happened to me a million times where I thought that I could still be pregnant after spotting 13,14dpo... and I’d always get AF. But this time!!!! AND, I’ve heard so many stories of women getting pregnant naturally after infertility, but me??? And the FIRST try!!?!!??? Nothing short of a miracle. Can’t wait to tell my husband. I wish the very best of luck to all of you. And PLEASE, ignore family and friends, and if you want it bad enough, do WHATEVER it takes to get YOUR baby! ❤️❤️❤️ Feel free to email me!

Let me help you with some symptoms that you should experience. There is usually only a small amount of weight gain in the first trimester of pregnancy. In this early stage of pregnancy a weight gain of about one pound per month is typical. Many women report cravings for certain foods during the early stages of pregnancy. A persistently elevated basal body temperature. The oral temperature measured first thing in the morning, upon arising from sleep is another characteristic sign of early pregnancy. Nausea and vomiting, sometimes known as "morning sickness" typically begins in the 2nd to 8th week of pregnancy. Other possible early pregnancy symptoms are mood swings, fatigue, changes in skin pigmentation, frequent urination, and headache. Signs and symptoms of early pregnancy can occur before the missed period and be confused with those of premenstrual syndrome (PMS) or the approaching menstrual period. It is not possible to determine if you are pregnant. In the absence of having a menstrual period until a pregnancy test is positive.
