Hi Everyone My name is Catherine and I'm 29 and the love of my life, Miles is 35. We live in New Zealand. Miles and I married in 2006 and we have been TTC #1 since Aug 06. We have recently been referred to a Fertility Clinic and will be TTC with IVF/ICSI. It was very heart breaking to hear the news and it just didn't sink in at first. One in six couples will have infertility problems but you just don't think these things will happen to you. Part of me is still thinking - maybe, just maybe it will happen without medical intervention. At least through the journey so far I have learned alot about my body and how strong Miles and I are as a couple. ************************************************** * After finding out the wait-list for Government assistance is over 12 months long we decided to put our names down but go ahead with a private cycle. We started the suppression drug Buserelin in Oct and the stimulant drug Gonal F in Nov. We had egg retrieval on 21 Nov and got 17 eggs. 14 were mature and 100% fertilized. With such great numbers we were recommend to push for blastocyst stage. We had one healthy blast transfered on 26 Nov. We have three frozen snow babies. First beta scheduled for 07 Dec. ************************************************** We're PREGNANT. Had the official result today. Beta was 209 and progesterone was 127. It's so hard to believe it's finally happened for us. This is the best Christmas present ever. It's what we've wanted for so long and we are just so happy.
