oh boy!  okay, so there is this praying mantis that wooed me last summer.  his name was chick hearn.  i made him a great salad and then he went off to work with my hubby.  i haven't seen him nor heard from him since.  he probably hitched a ride to north hollywood with one of those art students.  he seriously had his heart set in a career as a movie stunt insect.

  then there was gerald, the wolf spider that lived in my cottage.  he was a lush.  we were roommates for three years.  he died from electrical burns.  i told him not to get to close to those wires.
