MyHotComments.com I'm Summer, 21 years old and I live in Ohio with my husband, TJ who is 27 and his mom and dad. I met my husband in 2002 when I was 16 y/o and we got married on my 20th bday in 2006. We have been trying to conceive for about 2 yrs now. I don't have insurance so I cannot see any doctors at this point. I guess i'm just hoping for a miracle from God. I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 14 yrs. old. The Dr. put me on birth control to help me have my period. When I met my husband, back in 2002 I stopped taking my bc. We were never really trying, but also not preventing, if you know what I mean. I haven't tried charting or checking my temps or anything because honestly, im not sure how. The year before last I had lost alot of weight and I had a period every month! For the first time in my life, I was having a regular period. I couldn't believe it. Unfortunately, I had to move in with my in-laws, which has caused alot of stress, depression, and laziness. I gained back all the weight plus more! So im trying to lose the weight again and im also drinking alot more water! I'm hoping I can meet some women in my same boat, who can help with any information about what other things I can do or maybe some things I shouldn't be doing. Please keep me in your prayers and send some babydust my way!!! Thanks... God Bless you and your families MyHotComments.com Daisy

Hi!  The low GI diet has mainly to do with what kind of carbs you're eating.  Some carbs digest more quickly than others, causing a surge in your blood sugar, causing insulin resistance, and messed up insulin levels cause your other hormones to either produce too much or too little.  I got a book by Jennie Brand-Miller on the Low GI diet revolution but there are many others.  I also got some books on naturally controlling PCOS and your infertility.  There are alot of theories that food is the deeper cause of PCOS.  I also drank ALOT of water and started exercising about 6 days per week.  All of that must have balanced my hormones enough to finally let me have a normal cycle and get pregnant, because I never made it to my RE appointment!  I was sort of dizzy and miserable the first 3-4 days on the diet bc my body was used to having too much unnatural sugar, but after the initial changes wore off I'd never had so much energy in my life.  Try getting a book on it or going to this site:

http://www.glycemicindex.com/

andyou can find lists of which foods are best/worst and how to balance your diet.  It was honestly really simple.  It's more of a lifetitle change than a diet, but it is so worth it.  Right now, I don't have PCOS bc the only time you won't have it in your life is when you get pregnant, but as soon as the baby is born I'll be eating the same way again to avoid having to be on birth control or other meds to control symptoms.  It really did work!!! Good luck!  Ask me if you have more questions!
