Trying to maintain possible pregnancy with HCG shots

Issue is maintaining high enough levels of progesterone after fertilization. Have any of you ever been prescribed HCG injections during the luteal phase in order to maintain progesterone production after possible fertilization? My period usually lasts for 23 days and it's about 20 days and I have extreme cramps that resemble cramps I get from or right before my period. No sign of blood. I tried engaged in intercourse daily during ovulation and now I am on HCG shots so no possible pregnancy is lost due to low progesterone. What do you think is happening? Waiting for doctor to come back from vacation.

I think if you're testing low progesterone in your blood work they would prescribe you progesterone cream or suppositories or something? I also have low progesterone in my luteal phase and am doing blood work every cycle either 7, 8 or 9dpo then prescribed progesterone supplement.
But idk, I've never had a hcg shot.

Thank you Taliarenee. I had the testing cycle already and the progesterone levels are below the average. So I had 2 options. That after ttc during ovulation, to keep my period for starting early as there is a mismatch that doesn't wait for my body to recognize a baby is trying to attach, (a) take progesterone supplements or (2) hcg to prevent the lining from shedding. I am still on the hcg shots and cramping as this would the normal time a few days before my period starts. But no sign on blood.
