my shower was very girly... but DH came toward the end, just before people were leaving to say 'hi' to people and thank them also... It's nice for people to be able to see him too, especially his family who had traveled an hour to be there!

He didn't go to the shower my friends had for me (it was all girl and mostly my friends so it would have been awkward I think) but he did to the shower my family gave me. He didn't participate in the games, but when it was time to eat and open gifts he came. It made sense to me to have him there because it was his family too and people wanted to see him and talk to him about the baby too. And it was fun opening gifts together.

I won't make mine attend the whole shower. Heck, I don't like attending showers, so why would I make him? I kinda have to....

What I DO think is nice.... is to have DH come about an hour before it ends, to mingle, eat, and THANK those that care enough to come ooh ahh and coo. I think that is very respectful and a gracious thing to do.

I'm thinking we might throw a big BBQ for everyone. THAT he would attend. Girly showers, no way! Not until the end.

Nope. He and the husbands of some of the girls that were at my shower went over to one person's house and played Wii & stuff. My shower was an all girls shower. If I had a co-ed shower he would have been there. I wouldn't make my hubby go to a shower that was all girls.

Ours was a co-ed shower at a restaurant, we had wine and soft drinks and amazing food. We took pics, gave out favors, opened presents and both took turns taking pics wearing the ol' bow hat that was made for us. DH was wonderful, he also put out the favors, picked up the cake, the balloons, set everything up (along with my brother-in-law).

We had a blast...but I so didn't want a girly shower, and I definitely didn't want to play any games. But that's just me...I've been to plenty of showers where I played the games and it was fun :) I'm just shocked I let one of my sisters and one of my nieces make the bow hat and actually wore it..hee.

My DH didn't want to however I STRONGLY requested he did being his mother was throwing me my shower and her and I don't get along and he did enjoy himself way more than he thought he would and I think in the end he was really glad that he came and participated.

Hm, it might be where I live, but I've been to 3 baby showers and they all have been co-ed. I'll be doing the same whenever I finally have a child of my own. For me, it's a family and friends thing... a wonderful addition to a family and everyone should celebrate it :D

We had one back in Nov. it was a "new parent shower" for becoming foster parents, and we both attended he was the only male, but he's a cut up anyways and loved the attention lol, I hadn't heard of a co-ed one, but I think that's what we will do with this one, just to have all the family and friends together for a cook out would be nice, and it's also going to be in August in the dead of summer so that will be good, maybe we will have our pool bought and up by then lol

I know a lot of people do couples showers but DH and I are in agreement that my shower will just be for the ladies. He can go hang out with the guys and have a beer lol. I don't expect him to hang around the house when I know his friends wouldn't want to go to a baby shower.
Besides, when he gets home, he will want me to show him everything we were given...i know he will be excited to see them.

I had a baby shower when I was pregnant with Isabel and I made my DH come to it.

I shouldn't have though because he was just really awkward (only guy there) and he really didn't need to be there.

No one threw me a shower this time.
