Baby Bump

Postby pinktink96 » Fri Jul 05, 2013 11:29 am

Hello ladies. I am 8 weeks pregnant and DH and I have decided not to tell anyone until after we get through our first trimester. I feel like it is getting harder to hide because of my tummy. I haven't gained any weight, but can def tell that things aren't fitting right and my stomach looks like it is bloated all of the time. If this normal? I am FTM and know that everyone starts to show at different times, but when did you all start to notice that you were showing? I feel like when my sister got pregnany no one could tell for a good 4-5 months!

its so true that everyone is different but bloating is quite common right in the beginning! I was super bloated for that first few weeks.. by 11 weeks i had an actual small something, but again if people didn't know i was pregnant they wouldnt of been able to tell.. and at exactly 12 weeks there was a definite something.

I am also a FTM but i am 5"2 i was about 115 lbs pre-pregnancy and i have no torso which I know are all major factors in my showing so quickly! baggy shirts might just have to become your best friend haha

The bloat is definitely normal! All those hormones slow your digestive system down. It should go away in a few weeks, then the true baby bump will gradually start to take over.

I'm on baby #3, so I definitely started to show earlier this time, but it was most noticeable to me and close friends and family. I'm 24 weeks and just now at the point where strangers feel safe commenting on my belly!

FTM here too. The bloat at the beginning is horrible. I started wearing some stretchy band maternity pants at 10 weeks just because my normal pants were uncomfortable. I'm now 18 weeks and need maternity pants for sure, but still don't feel like my belly looks very bumpish, still just like I've gained some weight. But I can tell in the last couple of weeks the bump is growing and it's not just fat. We didn't aNnounce til 12 weeks so my suggestion is to buy some pants with a stretchy band (but not a panel) and make sure you wear forgiving shirts. I haven't had a stranger comment yet, so I don't think I'm that noticeable, even at 18 weeks. Hope that helps!

FTM also. I started bloat & feeling like pants were too tight around 8 weeks too, but it wasn't until about 15-17 weeks that I really could feel/see a baby bump. I still am not showing a whole lot at just shy of 22 weeks, but I started out plus size and tall, so I have plenty of room for babe to fill out, lol. If you don't know me, you probably wouldn't suspect I was pregnant. In fact, a woman at work didn't know I am pregnant until last week when my boss asked her about filling in part of my duties when I go on leave!

I feel like I was bigger when I was bloated than when I actually started showing. Even at almost 26 weeks w/ my 2nd, I'm not big at all. I'm tall with a long torso. I think it depends on how you carry (I was bigger with my first but this baby feels bigger?) I wonder what my insides look like!

Bloating is such a discomfort experience for any pregnant women. When i personally had it, there was no end to my misery. The stomach looked like it might stretch too much and tear apart. Whatever position i sat in was bad.

But guess what! i was searching online and found this article on remedies to treat bloating when pregnant and trust me they work wonders.. Give this a read

Omg! I was halfway into this thread and I was like "oh wow, there sure are a lot of female-to-male transgendered parents-to-be posting in this thread..... I mean... COOL, but... did I click on the wrong subforum?"

And then it dawned on me that FTM = First Time Mom around here, and not Female to Male. LMFAO! (I've been reading too much Caitlyn Jenner news, perhaps?) ;)

It's actually a bit reassuring that there are still some TTC acronyms I don't yet know... ha ha! :)
