Losing Sensation or blood circulation in arms/hands?

Postby Honey Bunny » Thu Jan 08, 2015 7:30 pm

Okay so for the past couple of weeks, 2 at most, I've been experiencing this. Its almost like when your leg falls asleep but not exactly.

The way to describe it is almost like when you cut circulation to a part of your body. Sometimes i fall asleep on my arm or on my wrist and wake up and it feels like the blood stopped circulating.

I know at this stage our bodies are producing more blood and pumping at a higher rate than ever. But like even while using my phone and texting for maybe 5 minutes or using it my finger tips, hands feel like blood is not rushing to them. At night if i fall asleep with my arms above me, or have my arm or have my arm tucked on my side same thing happens.

I dont know if this is something to worry about or perhaps discuss with my Dr, but its happening alot. Anyone else know what im talking about?

I've had carpal tunnel issues for a while but the last few weeks is the worst. Both my hands are numb, achey and swollen. I can't feel much and have trouble gripping things or pushing myself up.

It's worse at night or if I sleep. Not much you can do but use splints at night. It hasn't helped a ton for me so I'm trying a tensor on one and a splint on the other. I found out you can get compression gloves so maybe these will help. I'm going to ask my ob.

I imagine if its bugging you this early it will just get worse by the 3rd tri.

Add me to the sore hands club. Started about 6 weeks ago. Getting progressively worse. Started out as the numb/asleep feeling when I'd wake up, but it quickly went away once I'd get up. For the past few weeks, they've just been stiff and sore all day. Can't wear my rings anymore, either... In the past week, I"ve had issues with my fingers getting stuck in the closed fist position (they won't unfurl)...

I get trigger finger too but so far just my left thumb.

I can no longer feel the tips of my fingers and have constant pins and needles in my hands. It will go away when baby arrives though.

I see this post is sort of "old" so Im not trying to worry you unneccasrily or anything but for some reason this post made me think of my mom talking about when she had GD, so I looked up some symptoms and kinda stalked how you've been feeling (dehydrated/thirsty, dizzy spells, peeing a lot, now numbess not just in hands {which would more likely point to pregnancy induced carpal tunnel} which of course can all be totally norm!) and I think maybe it's a worth a call to your dr? This is the site I was reading from, I'm sure you can judge for yourself if you think you should give the call to your dr but I just wanted to put the thought out there just in case! & hopefully I'm totally off lol(:
