Anterior Placenta

Postby Honey Bunny » Fri Feb 06, 2015 5:26 pm

Ugh!

Well time to talk about this one. I asked an u/s tech this past week where my placenta was and she mentioned to the front of the uterus, so basically My tummy, placenta, then comes baby.

I wanted to get some experiences of ladies who have Anterior Placenta, or had it.

Im mostly bummed about perhaps not feeling baby as soon as everyone else. I know first time pregnancies usually wont feel baby til after week 20, im just hoping that for me it does not mean week 32!

I know having the placenta in that location does not mean something is wrong, baby decided thats where he/she wanted to cozy up for the months to come. I have not discussed it with my OB, I will bring it up my next appt. Anything I should try to do differently, not do, ANYTHING I should look out for?

I want to feel baby!! :wait: :sob:

Thanks in advance ladies.

I had an anterior placenta and didn't feel movement till week 21 and nothing strong until week 28. Can't think of anything else you would need to watch for.

I had it with my DD, and I felt her move around 21 weeks, it just took a while longer for my DH to feel her... it doesn't affect anything else, you don't have to do anything differently - it was just luck of the draw where it ended up! Most importantly it's not near your cervix, so be thankful for that :) and don't worry, you WILL feel your baby soon!

The one thing for us that was neat was DH and I both felt the first kick. Since it took me so long to feel anything we didn't have a time where DH couldn't feel him.

With my son I had an anterior placenta and still felt movement from 16 weeks.
I didn't feel every little thing, but the big ones for sure got through the layers!
