How to distunguish between "quickening" and Gas/Digestion?

Postby dreamingofbab » Tue Mar 03, 2015 1:52 am

Hi Ladies, anyone know the answer to this? I am 18 weeks tomorrow and have felt some "bubbling" that feels very similar to gas or normal digestion, sometimes I can hear it too. Could this be baby? Or just wishful thinking?

I don't think you could hear baby, unless you are using a doppler. kn the beginning, baby feels like little taps or bubbles in the lower abdominal area. I find that if I would lay balled up I could feel some taps, but keep in mind we feel baby's movement very sporadically at first. Hope you feel baby for sure soon!

I think if you're hearing something, it's probably your tummy talking! Since we are due date sisters and all, I can tell you I haven't gotten a real solid kick or anything yet but have gotten two barrel rolls (it was really obvious). My ability to feel our little girl is really hit 'n miss - some days I feel her a lot and other days I don't feel a thing. Now if I push on my tummy, I can feel a definite movement but it is pretty subtle. They are still little! :)

Im just gonna say, the moment you feel baby, YOU WILL KNOW. There is something new, and nothing like you've ever felt before. I can't explain it but you'll know. On the noise, yeah im not sure thats the norm, its probably just your tummy.

I felt the first solid barrel roll at 15.5 weeks and it was weird!!! I started feeling her really early - around 13w - then lost the regular sensations for a few weeks after I "popped". I've started feeling her again regularly in the past few days and I'm pretty sure my bladder is her favorite resting spot.....!
