It's been a long time ...

Postby southernbelle » Sun Apr 12, 2015 3:42 pm

Hi ladies, it's been a very long time since I've been an active member. I just needed somewhere to vent. I suffered a missed miscarriage two cycles ago (my second loss) and I was completely devastated. I was 8 weeks pregnant and the baby stopped growing at 6w4d. My ob advised us to wait at least one cycle and try again. We tried again and here I am. I got my bfp, but sadly I'm fairly certain I'm going to miscarry again. My hcg was only 350 at 20dpo with a very low progesterone (I'm 24dpo today). I know the initial number supposedly doesn't matter, but historically speaking my numbers have always been in the thousands by then. I go back tomorrow for another blood draw. I'm just at a loss. I started spotting this weekend and my ob recommended complete bed rest (which we all know means I have more time to think). Meanwhile I'm the obsessive poas gal and today my lines were significantly lighter with both fmu & smu. I know I should stop poas, but somehow it makes me feel more in control so I can prepare myself - I know it sounds really stupid.

I'm so heartbroken and I just don't know what to do anymore. DH wants me to heal and wait until end of summer to start again and I'm just tired. So, so tired. I know it's possible that I "might" receive good news tomorrow, but with the lighter tests I'm really fearing the worst.

Thanks for letting me vent - I just really needed a safe place to get it all out and this place has always been very supportive.

I hope everything goes well.

If you had low progesterone did your doctor prescribe you any? Has she discussed putting you on some if you have to try again?

Hoping for the best. Keep us posted.

Initially I was on 200mg (since 3dpo), once I got my results last week they increased me to 600mg. I went yesterday for a checkup. Sadly hcg went down to 90 and I started bleeding this morning. sigh

I've never heard of that. I will ask my acupuncturist, thank you.

At this point I'm at such a loss I don't know if I can try again. Maybe I'll feel differently in a couple of cycles, but right now I'm just heartbroken. I know I should be grateful that I can at least get pregnant. It's so hard to try and be positive about much, you know?

It is hard. I used to see it when i worked at the womens clinic. If it continues you may want to get dna testing done for you and your husband. Sometimes the antibodies fight and thats the cause and not your womb.

There is always something to try. We just have to keep keeping on.

I feel bad that dh doesn't have an outlet or support system. I know he's hurting, too. I think once I get over this or rather once I heal a bit I may contact a fertility specialist. Right now I just feel defeated and want to give up completely.

Sometimes the surrender is what makes a baby too!

Its good to stay supportive of each other and continue to date too.

Take the time you need and explore options. Your heart will lead you true.

Thanks a bunch for your support. It really helps to talk about it with someone who understands. Friends try to be supportive, but always end up failing miserably.

I think when you know someone in person you want to put that best face forward. My sister hates that her friends are always glass half full with her. Everyone requires something different and im glad you can find it here.

So sorry for your losses. Losing a baby is always hard. After my mc, it totally changed the way I am for this pregnancy compared to my older kids. I have my fingers crossed for you to get your rainbow whenever you feel like trying. :)
