2nd line still really faint, is this a m/c?

Postby enkb » Sun May 03, 2015 2:40 pm

I got an increadibly faint (like I might of made it up, didn't show up on pics at all and husband said he wasn't sure he could see it) 2nd line on a cheapy Walmart test 4/30, then a very slightly darker line 5/1 on the same brand Walmart cheapy test, as well as a light but clearly there plusnon a different brand.

5/2 The line might be a tiny bit darker, but still def a squinter (on cheapy)

5/3 The line exactly the same as 5/2. They still take 5-10 mins to show up.

I believe I o'd on 4/17, so this should put me at 16 dpo. Why aren't my lines getting darker? I have used the same brand test and first morning urine each time. Am I just being paranoid or am I miscarrying?

I just want to know for sure, I thought once I got the first positive I was done with the long waiting to find things out!

With mine, it took a few days to get darker. So, I wouldn't worry quite yet. I'd give it a few days and see if the line sticks around. If it stays but doesn't get darker, maybe call your doctor to see if you can get blood work.

Do you have pics you can upload?

Mine never did get darker this time. I stopped testing after a week though.

When comparing pee sticks - you should only compare the same brands. My ICs still take about 5 min to show a line, even a squinter line - but my FRERs show up right away.

If you are concerned about the progress, ask your doctor for a quantitative beta blood draw. Those will tell you if your pregnancy is progressing the way it should.

Thanks for the replies, my midwife told me this isn't unusual at all or a cause for concern. She suggested I stopped taking them now that I have a confirmed positive and hold tight another week or two. With no risk factors or prior m/c or chemical pregnancies, she said betas weren't necessary but we could do them if I really felt like I wanted to.

After the initial shock of finding out has passed, I think I'll try to be a bit more Zen about it and wait until we could see something on an u/s. No bleeding or cramping at all and I'm starting to get sore bbs and a bit nauseous so I'm feeling more like this is the real thing!
