Hi ladies!
My baby shower was so awesome! We got a lot of baby items that we needed! Only thing we don't have is a mattress, which can wait a few months anyways because we weren't planning on putting her in her room right away. We'll just use the pack n play in our room till we're ready to transition her to her crib! Are your babes in cribs yet??
Lita, I'll try to search for you right now!
I'm definitely ready for her to be here! My body has just about had enough! My Braxton Hicks are becoming more and more frequent and intense. The doctor said that is good. I had my first cervical exam on Monday and she said my cervix was starting to soften, but was still high up there and not dilated yet. She said that the baby was still sitting on my bladder and hasn't fully made her way into the birth canal yet. I know that things can change in the matter of days, so i'm hoping my body has progressed more! I bought a yoga ball to start bouncing on to try to get her to move into position and drop.

Great news krista! We didnt even get a crib until a month after Chase was born but i will say once we did i started to use it, as in tummy time, changing him, so he would get used to being in it when we were ready. I started with using the crib for naps around 2 months then in the pack n play at night in our room, a few nights ago we started him sleeping in the crib and hes not to bad but has been waking up, not sure if its him not feeling well(hes teething) or what?! He also hasnt been eating much lately either but still has plenty of wet diapers so were not concerned. Your right things can change at any moment, i had no dilation at all on a tuesday then that friday i gave birth, so crazy how things work out! I didnt have any real signs either until early that friday morning, just make sure you have your bags packed and everything you want to use for the baby, my DH thought we didnt need to do all those things so soon but i was 2 wks early and it took us off guard!

Thanks Isis!! And I got that rock n play at my baby shower too! Will definitely be using it! And the whole labor thing has really got me nervous and anxious! My contractions are still coming pretty frequent and intense. Sometimes making me catch my breath. I haven't started timing them yet, but I plan on it today/tomorrow. My bags are packed and ready, thats for sure! I know how quickly things can change! Funny, my DH is the same way. I was talking to him last night and I was like, "You know she can come ANY day now" and he sat there dumbfounded. Like he thought she wasn't going to come till at least 40 weeks/my due date. Maybe now he understands why I've been trying to get ready, pack the bags, and get the carseat installed! He keeps being like "oh we have time". Men... i tell ya!
I know the braxton hicks are false labor, but i'm just so nervous about not knowing where the line crosses from braxton hicks, to real labor contractions.

You ladies can call me Noreen by the way, isis used to be my dogs name that past but now with all that in the news its prob best to stop using it !ha :)

OMG my Dh and yours are exactly the same to funny! i dont think the carseat was installed until i went into labor! ha Youll know the difference between the real ones once they come like every 10 mins even and you haveee to breath threw them you know they are real and time them, mine were all over the place and i was 3 centimeters and a 100% when i got to the hospital.

OH and definately pack a few different size baby clothes, i barely had any newborn because i didnt think hed be small enough for them but even at 6.7lbs they were a little big. He even went in a few premie things too after his 2 wk hospital stay. He did lose a little weight at that point but i did realize how long they can fit into newborns for, same with the diapers, all sizes hes in 2s now and is about 14-15lbs he was in newborns for a while then 1s for a little bit now 2s but im thinking i need to move him up to 3s

babydust how is madi doing?! she anywhere near weight like my chunka?! :)

Sounds good, Noreen ;) Did you have quite a few braxton hicks before actual labor contractions started?

And yes, I have a few different outfits packed in my bag! DH calls me OCD, but I just call it being prepared! haha
My friends baby born Nov 17th is already 14lbs! lol he's a little chunker and is growing like a weed! I think he's in 2's right now. At his 2 month check up, doctor said he was the size of a 4 month old lol goes to show every baby is different!
Glad Chase is doing good though!!

I can't wait to join motherhood with you ladies and start sending pics of my baby girl! Soon enough!!

Krista, i think my braxton hicks werent even enough to make me feel like anything was going to happen. It was so mild up until the real contractions started, to me they just left like period cramps.

Yea Chase was just about 14 lbs as of last month he has his 4 month appt next week i just cant even believe it.

Youll be here soon enough! Are you planning on breastfeeding or formula?

Hi ladies! Krista I can't wait for baby pictures. Madi stated sleeping in her crib at 6 weeks. She actually really likes it in there. I have a video monitor to I feel ok being in a diff room because I can watch her.
Noreen I think Madi is teething too. She has been cranky lately, pulling at her ear and today hasn't really napped much. I hope it's not an ear infection. She was 13.1 lbs at her 3 month appointment. She has her 4 month check up in 2 weeks.
As far as labor I had labor pains for 2 nights straight before I went into labor. On Tuesday I was 80%effaced with no dilation, went into labor the following night and has her by Thursday evening.

Yeah the contractions are getting even more frequent and painful so hopefully she's on her way soon! Did either of you ladies lose your mucus plug? And if so, how soon was it to when you went into labor? I still haven't lost mine so that makes me think I still have some time... I've been walking a bunch and bouncing on a yoga ball so I sure hope I'm making some progress. Next doctor appointment is on Wednesday! I'll update you ladies how it goes!

Oh and yes Id love to breastfeed so I'm praying all goes well and it goes smoothly! I'm actually more worried about how that is going to go rather than labor!

Yes I lost my mucus plug the night I went into labor...I lost a lot of it.
I was nervous about breastfeeding too, because I really wanted it to work. The first couple of days were tough healing from surgery and getting her to latch, but after the first week it was rather easy. My best advice is ask for help! I asked to speak to the brestfeeding specialist while I was at the hospital after delivery and also attended a breastfeeding support group at the hospital for the first few weeks.
Keep bouncing on the yoga ball. The last week I would bounce on that thing none stop and walk up and down stairs. So excited for you!! I'm actually a little jealous- I miss being pregnant and experiencing her labor. Not the pain part, but the amazing part that follows.

Such cute pictures! I love her chair!! At my baby shower, I got one NB valentine outfit and was secretly wishing she would arrive early and be able to wear it! Oh well!

This wait is awful! But, i'm just trying to take advantage of the few days off work i've had now and make sure I have everything ready. I think i've re-packed my hospital bag three times now. Why can't the girl get the hint that we're ready?! haha

Did the loss of your mucus plug come before the contractions started or a few hours after? I sort of forget your birth story and how labor happened for you!
