Computer on the Belly discussion.

Postby DandNBaby » Thu Sep 03, 2015 2:45 am

Hey girls,
I'm studying for a Bachelor degree in Computer science and just got a huge project...
So naturally, alot of work with a computer (with Wifi activated), and in the evenings I lie in bed with the computer sitting on my stomach.
I check every five minutes or so, it does not produce too much heat!
but I am a bit concerned if there's a risk of radiation...
Any thoughts? Thanks :)

I have not heard of computers being unsafe. I have put my laptop on my stomach a lot (though later in the pregnancy, he'd start kicking it, hehe). I remember worrying and searching the internet myself, and I never found anything reputable saying there were any risks.

I figure if the body scanners at the airport are safe, laptops are fine, lol.

I used to worry about this all the time as I constantly use my laptop in bed. I would just put a pillow underneath or get one of those trays you can put on your lap for your computer. I don't think its necessarily something to worry about but it's always better safe than sorry. Like my OB says.. it's best not to do give yourself any reason to feel guilt or regret if anything were to happen.
