Am I being stupid?

Postby Duke27 » Thu Sep 10, 2015 10:34 am

Totally freaked out as yesterday I had a stew which I added thyme, oregano and a few other herbs, I had no idea you couldn't have them and now super worried :-( I put a fair amount in and also used them the night before in a pasta dish :-( above else done this?

Also I've made some bbq chicken with Worchester sauce and Googled and some sites say you can't have it. Is this true or should I tuck into the bbq chicken?

I don't think none of that is something to be concerned about. In my country we cook with a lot of herbs and seasonings, and babies keep popping. Don't google everything, you will always get some horror stories.

I craved the absolute BUSINESS out of Italian food the first tri. I mean I was eating spaghetti sauce 3-4 times a week in a bowl with as big of a spoon that would fit into my mouth - with no noodles. There is a ton of oregano, thyme, etc in that, and it caused me and baby not one single problem - she is perfectly healthy.

Agree with Yeli - get off of Google ;)

Your doctor or midwife should have given you a basic list of things to avoid. To the best of my knowledge, worcestershire sauce, oregano, etc. are not on those lists.

Google hard enough and you'll discover that you can't eat anything and your water is poisoning you. My advice is to stay away from Google, follow your doctor's guidelines, and just use common sense.

The only things my doctor actually told me not to eat were cold deli meat, unpasteurized soft cheese (pasteurized is fine), and raw meat/fish. (And I've cheated and had a few deli sandwiches, lol.) Otherwise, she just said to wash any raw fruit/veggies well before eating them.

The odds of anything happening because of anything you eat are REALLY low. So, yes, stay off Google :D
